What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks GT, I never liked or carried many multi-blade knives, but this Humpback Stockman has totally changed my mind. I'm lovin' it.

Alan

I hope you madeit TB  Sorry to hear you have to work over the weekend :( That's often the case for me, usually when the weather is at its best, but I should be OK this weekend (it's raining yet again)
I won that mid-70's Camillus BSA Whittler (BSA #1047) in a giveaway r8shellvery generously did a while back (it came with one of her lovely pocket sheaths too :) ). They were made with handles in black and white Delrin, as well as brown.

I had the maker right, at least. :o That's a real fine knife, thanks for sharing!

Carrying my 66 today :) Have a great weekend everyone

Fantastic picture, Jack, and some really beautiful deep green bone on that one!

As GT might say, that's a Winning Winchester! :D

I think this one will make next week in my pocket again!

That's the Wharncliffe mini-trapper, correct? Love the smooth green bone on that knife, I've already started my quest for one just like it.

Home today, carrying this small Horsewright aka Dave Ferry Coyote fixed blade with elk horn scales, nice handy size.

The lines on that knife are awesome from point to heel, Gary, what a stunner! I like the threadwork on your paracord fobs, too.

Lol, thanks for the kind words Tsar, much appreciated! That queen does glow, great pic
Today's carry, freshly stropped and ready for duty. And coincidentally what I consider to be my ugliest City Knife, just never really warmed up to the carbon fiber for some reason.

The Queen is turning out to be a nice little pocket full of sunshine, I must say. :D

I don't mind that Barkie one bit. It's the "yang" to your last pair's "yin", I think. :p

The Ike is bonestag to the best of my knowledge. Jack Black asked if the Rodgers was Ebonite and I don't know enough about Rodgers' knives in general or Ebonite in particular to accurately answer that question. I know enough to understand that a lot of the regulars here on the Porch have forgotten more about Traditional knives than I currently know.

I know the feeling, it doesn't take much reading here on the porch to find yourself humbled by someone's expertise.

That Ike has me keenly interested in the pattern, and adding it to my growing collection of Case 6.5 bonestag models. :D

Everyone thinks carrying a few slipjoints is an incredible burden, but it's a HUGE knife that weighs as much as 4 ounces. A dozen knives will add less than 3 pounds - I put on more weight than that on a bad weekend! ;)
I followed the Porch advice of trying out patterns via Rough Rider, but I never got beyond the "gateway drug" to the more expensive folders. The Rough Riders have been everything I can ask for in a knife!
That yellow Queen pen is a cheerful charmer!
...
This weekend, among the knives I've selected are these:
a Case sowbelly stockman in CV and chestnut jigged bone
an Uncle Henry medium stockman
a stag Peanut
a ring-opener
a Buck stag canoe
and an Imperial 2-bladed toothpick

Fantastic choices, all! I still haven't come across an Imperial 'pick with a pen like that, so it's always enjoyable when you share yours. I'm a recent convert to the ways of the sowbelly; that is one formidable hunk of knife in the pocket! You also have some impressive stag on hand, and that ring opener is a fascinating little knife.

If I had the pocket space to carry a dozen knives I'm not confident that I'd be able to resist. :o :p :D

I can't blame you for going with the RRs in a lot of cases. The trapper I recently posted about in the RR thread is a serious looker, and the only flaw is a nail-cracking pull on the master which I am currently trying to work out, something that's in no way unique to RR's knives. FYI I checked my green RR canoe and it is indeed a double-spring.

Some fine carries and photos the past few days. I'm wrapped up in blankets in front of the TV recuperating from a nasty flu, but I've got full pockets :)
Bark River Little Creek LT, Case/Bose Cattle Knife, GEC TC Barlow

Get well soon, Mike! That collaboration knife has gotta give you a warm feeling inside. :D

Out and about again with the Fremont Jack:

Fantastic patina on that blade, and a great photo to boot!

I didn't put much thought into today's carry, as I'm still a little starstruck over this big Russell Barlow, so I paired it with a little-carried Case for utility's sake and flew out the door. :o

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Two great knives! I love eureka jacks and those covers are amazing, and the jigging on that hammerbrand looks great.

:thumbup::thumbup::)

Very nice, Prim, I just happened to pull a newer NYKC stockman for Stag Saturday.

Thank you Jeff. :)

An Ancient TC Barlow and a Simmons Hardware penknife (as well as the Presidential) today.

Thank you Dean and two fine knives you carried today. :)

Two real lookers there my friend, beautifully captured as always

That one is SOOOO special...WOW!

Thank you Mr. Jack and David.:thumbup::)

Hope you feel better soon Mike. Those picks ought to keep you warmer. ;):)

Primble
The picture of the Eureka is surreal ...wow

 One doesn't have to try too hard with the Champlin knife. I really like the steel bolsters and liners on it as well. :)

GT - thank you - I think your Buck canoe and the sowbelly would make a nice pairing. ;):)

Tsar - neat pic and knives.

Captain Catt, you never steer us wrong! :D

Man, lots to envy today...the Fishbone Barlows, glennbad's tipped bolsters, MT's perpetually amazing Damascus and stag combos, and last (but certainly not least!) Gary's Menefee! You guys sure are doing Friday right. Here's one for what I've been doing lately...Fancy Friday!

A new pic, with some older ones that capture the character well...

A real beauty Joe !:)

Tsar - neat pic and knives.

Thank you, sir! I'm finding I really love the newest acquisitions which should make "knife austerity" more tenable as I attempt to get a #18, wait for the details on the forthcoming #77s and continue to support "value-added" features on our ever-closer-to-reality BF16 knife (one day I'm going to have to go out of my way to buy Charlie a pint or six :p :D).

Carried this all day Saturday for doing chores around the house. The screwdriver end is great for not having to run to a toolbox every time something needs loosening or tightening!

Of course, now that I have this it's a part of my everyday loadout for the indefinite future:

Thanks, Jack. :) Your 66 is verdant and virtuous, yet voluptuous!!:p

Thank you my friend, you hasome tremendous knives in your pockets this week

Jack
Your 66 and picture are wonderful!

Thanks Gev

Thank you very much :) That looks like a BIG knife, cool shot  Hope you managed to get all your work done

Got these two with me today :) Have a great Sunday everyone

Gave the ute a tub the other day inside and out. Next day bought the shopping home but milk was open and spilled in the footwell.
OMG the stench. Had to give it the hot water treatment.
Here's the old Osage #73 on the tailgate.:) patina coming along nicely.

Yes it is. I love the "almond" color green (not the real name). The wharncliff is very practical, much more than the one on the seahorse whittler btw. I received it from Will...

Looks like a black Sunday for Mr. Black !:D

Nice Osage Orange 73 Meako ! Great Robeson and OHTA too.:thumbup::thumbup::)

Out for my daily hike with Cleo this morning, always nice to see my favorite Kingfisher trolling for fish. These three fines knives are with me today,

Marbles Handy Hunter in 4 pin stag/stag pommel in vacuum melt 52100B, sheath by the talented Claude Scott; F. Hartkopf lockback in Thuya burl and Markus Balbach damascus; Tony Bose Texas jack

Well done everyone! Tremendous knives.

I've been busy the last couple of days. We had a snow storm, it's my mothers 85th birthday, picking up family in my 4x4 for the party, etc.

Tsar and GT thanks for the comments.
Tsar, I'm not sure of the material used in the Dorwal's scales. It's my understanding H. Dorwals were made by Boker for the Canadian market in the 1920's. I've been trying to acquire them when available for their Canadian connection.

Terrific hawk Primble!

Today it's a GEC 92 and a Wenger Soldier.

Have a good one!

Thanks for the compliment on the Fremont, Gev! Today I have the Featherweight with me again (on this cold and cloudy day):
