What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This one yesterday and today...it started life with a hook on it as well. Handy dandy package now, it's like a trapper and a back pocket had a baby. And it's stainless!

I picked this one up off the exchange, used, and right in the pocket it goes. Dixie stockman, antique black jigged bone.

That it is, sir, that it is. I like that pearl Schrade of yours. Old knives have stories that only they know; like what word the owner said when he cracked that pearl.

Thanks for the big laugh, Dean! So funny:D

Gorgeous Schrade Gev!

Thank you, Tom! Much appreciated

Just think...those two may have been in the same pocket so many years ago;) I can see the blissful smile on your face, my friend

The Presidential is taking a rest and this SAK comes out to play today along with the case mini-trapper.
Please forgive the picture quality...its not my forte and the camera is an iphone here in my office on a less than attractive chair seat.

Thank you Gary! :) Nice trapper.

I've been off and on the forums lately. Sometimes when I'm not doing well, I have a hard time focusing on the computer so I end up just logging off. Having said that, I want to thank everyone for the fine compliments on my new Ohta the last couple days. I just don't want folks thinking I'm ignoring them. Much love to everyone here. :D

Nice whittler Bob! Hope you are having a good day my friend! :)

^^^ You'd know better than I, Jack. I just thought ebonite because it's got that look, i.e. like a bowling ball.

It was certainly used a lot by the Sheffield cutlers in an earlier era :)

Very nice Dean, great-looking pocket sheath too

Jack
The stockman today are two beauties! The Boker acrylic is quite nice indeed:D

Thanks Gev :) I think Kris has a Barlow with similar covers, not seen it in a while, but it's a nice-looking knife

Beautiful Mr P

Thanks for the big laugh, Dean! So funny:D

Yes indeed :D A lovely knife still Gev

Bob Wotta fine Whittler there, magnificent bone and patina, impresses the masses:D:D:thumbup:

Jeff I really like the blade assortment on my Dixie, it's a big knife but it doesn't feel big in carry. Decent jigging on that Tidioute, how do you like the knife so far? It's good looking for sure:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

^^^ ^^^ ^^^ As always, lots of great stuff everyone!

I've got the Hawthorne on me today - it's so light that I don't even notice it in a pocket sheath in my shirt breast pocket - 3.1 ounces with the sheath:

Will, I agree across the board. Liking it very much so far. About 10 minutes freehand on the diamond stones and it shaves nicely. The blades do ride nice and low in the pocket. There's not a drop of black in these covers, but the antique black is quite handsome. I might have to put a coffee patina on these blades to protect them. I get pretty sweaty at work.

Primble, I think you must have a time machine tucked away somewhere. How do you come up with so many NICE, OLD KNIVES!?!
