What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well...I guess the flu shot doesn't always work. I've been down and out since Tuesday night and still feel pretty wonky today.

So, a rather belated thanks Jack, Dean and GT for the comments on the Cadet II and Primble on the Grohmann.

Great knives all!

I'm just laying back playing with a Vic Voyager Lite today.

Have a good day everyone.

That bolster on the TC seems awfully shiny for you Rob!!

:eek::thumbup::thumbup::D

Are we going to have to rank all these astounding Barlows at the end of the week?:confused: I think that might be an impossible (but enjoyable) task for me! That Catt is incredible; just the bolster stamp alone, with its tiny cursive script, seems like a marvel of engineering to me. And the TC is unforgettable; the antique amber sawcut handles are by far my favorite, and then the "soup effect" on this one makes it stand out even more! Haven't you owned that knife more than once?? And that Keen Kutter certainly punches above its weight!!:D

The Rough Rider little stockman with the mathematical scrimshaw:

- GT

Undecided GT - only owned the soup bone once - Todd used to own it. ;):) Nice pun on the punches and I think that mathematical scrimshaw suits you perfectly. Math was always my best subject through school. ;):D

Rob, the Osage Orange one that I have is light, sharp, snappy, pinch pull and small. It disappears in my watch pocket allowing room for my magnifying glass also. I could see myself going out this summer with just the Coyote and my Vic Classic. So, in brief, I like it. :)

I can't go by this one without commenting. Wow! Bolster, bone and blade - none finer made. I wax poetic. :D
rof!

Going natural today (the knives - not me!).

Thank you Dean for the comment and info. Nice pair of Northfield's, even if they do have that bed spread material on them.:eek:;):D:D:D:D

Thanks sir, I've been enjoying your Barlow posts immensely  Two more lovely knives today, but that KK is outstanding

:thumbup::thumbup::)

I have this recent acquisition in my pocket today. '08 Northfield Scout. :D Hope you all have a good one!

Nice nice stag on that one Mr. Halfstop ! Wondering if Middle Tennessee State is your new favoite team yet ?:confused::D

Lots of fantastic carries guys
A flying visit on my way out the door. Have a good weekend everyone

My Wheatley Brothers Tacklers' Knife

Very very nice Wheatly Brothers Mr. Jack ! I have a few of those old thread spoolers - at least that was what was wound on mine when I found them. :D

2014 Case Pruner.Case really knocked it outa the park, imo. Fit and finish,crisp,half-stop&walk-n-talk.A favorite and highly functional!

I swear that on the days I don't post, I still have a traditional knife in my pocket. :D

Great shot of that Cadet. Is that a case you made?

For the past couple days it's been this newly sanded Opinel no.7 & Erickson Zulu

That Erickson is top drawer, Tim! Everything about it speaks quality. I particularly like the jigging.

Thank you Dean for the comment and info. Nice pair of Northfield's, even if they do have that bed spread material on them.:eek:;):D:D:D:D

Ow, ow, ow. Right to the heart. Bed spread material! Naw, that's rugged material, long lasting and classy. :):)

Today's carry is one of my more heavily used TCs. Photographed with a 116 year-old coin I got in change (!) yesterday.

Seven days of two Barlows - Day 7:

Glorious tour of barlows Primble, thank you for taking us along for the ride

Just sharpened this City Knife today, and it "thanked" me with a little bite after. Just enough to remind to be more attentive with it ;).

Some nice Case knives showing up to day. Another nice scout there Tom!

Lazy day for me, waiting for my 3:30 massage and don't expect to cut too many things today.
These two will be able to handle it
Stag Saturday pair.

To many fantastic photos and knives to copy them all....a most excellent day! Cold front and rain last night and a glorious day today:thumbup::thumbup:

Heading out in it with this in my pocket

Robeson curvy

Victorinox Classic SD on my key ring; Al Mar Osprey and Gerber Paul 2PM in left front pocket. S&W pre-model 37 Chiefs Special Airweight or Colt Detective Special in right front pocket,

Todays carry and most every day too.

Then the mail person brought me a little Coyote and it gets the pictures taken and into my watch pocket. Lot of CF & CE with it later. It is a LITTLE jewel.

Harry Those are such fine knives (that Stag as always....) that I'm not sure I would leave the house:eek: I'd be indoors gibbering at them:D:D:D:thumbup: Great assortment of frames and blades there: Drop Point, Clip, Wharncliffe (all you need is a Spear..:D)

Very interested in that Coyote, looks really elegant. I've got a Blackwood Yote on the way across the Atlantic, let's hope I get it before Easter but you never know with those Customs....maybe they're coon-fingering the knives for days on end?? :grumpy:sometimes seems so...

Regards, Will

I took this one out with me today. A bright sunny day but a bitter North wind kept it very chill unfortunately.

Thanks, Will

Killing it. [emoji106][emoji41][emoji106]

I've been remiss about posting it, but I've been carrying this John Lloyd custom shadow Dogleg Jack every day for the past six weeks.

l9YHTge.jpg

I use it for everything, and I toss it in with my keys. That's what it was made for. :)

It's awesome when you find that knife, car and or watch that makes you feel that way. I get asked constantly, why do you drive this to that. What's the point of having something if you don't enjoy it. No safe or garage queens over here.

I finally got a chance to slip one of my new 85's in the pocket today. What a sweet, slim carry this single blade is, WOW! :D

25862785486_277044eea1_b.jpg

I enjoy the slimness of mine as well. Over this week of my #85 carry, I kept saying that over and over.

All blue today.

Love that blue clip point in wood.

Just got this K.R. Johnson Lanny's Clip in the mail today!

Congrats and it's a beaut.

Nice, first one I've seen in a pic for a while.

Using this to introduce myself. This is my first time participating in a forum. To make it short, I love stockmans with punches, hence the username and I'm a big boxing fan. I dunno, though I don't use it often, the punch blade appeals to me more than a Spey. This one has been my companion for almost five years now. I do dabble in other patterns as well, mostly Jackknife variations.
