What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Did some scouting for turkey season after work. I don't think these are turkeys though...

I've been bitten by the Barlow bug - this came in today's mail.

Everything's better with a Barlow! :D That's a sweet-looking Russell. Oddly enough, one was waiting for me in the mailbox after returning home from work. It's going directly into the pocket tomorrow. Already CF & CE this evening after cleaning and putting up today's carries, a trio in antique green bone:

Yes, the Congress is giant (5" closed). I'll snap the Barlow tomorrow.

I always like seeing that moose of yours, Ted. There's something so cool about carrying and using a 100+ year old knife.

+1

Thanks JB.
Wow. That's a really interesting knife! Going to have to look this one up as it looks like a lock back ... Almost...

Thanks Dan, it's an Okapi, but without a ratchet. No lock, but an external spring

The Pioneer joined me on a little 2 mile hike today. Took a little break at the waterfall.

Looks like a great place to take a break :)

Cool pic of your Boker Ben

Jack, your Okapi is very interesting, and, coincidentally, I’ve recently been looking around for Okapis or Cold Steel Elands/Kudus. ;)

Thanks GT, it's always nice to see your horn Joker :)

Cool pic, are those Morels? :)

I didn't get a chance to post my carry yesterday, my Watchpocket Barlow :)

Carrying my Davison today :)

Thanks. Yes they are. I have actually never knowingly found any before, but never really looked either. I'm certainly going to start looking more now.

Hope you enjoy them :)

Terrific little gunstock with me today for casual Friday! It fits in the watch pocket of jeans perfectly:)

Thanks, Tom. :) I like almost everything about the numerous canoes I have, with the possible exception of the spear/pen blade combo on most of them. Not much variety in blade shape, although the blades are two different sizes and that's a plus. But I've concluded that I like a spear blade better than any other blade shape, so having a large and small version on the same knife is definitely not all bad.

Your dark Beer Scout (and lanyard) is an absolute gem; it deserves to get out more! :D

Fine choice again, Tom! Does the pruning blade on your Harvester have an unusual grind (e.g., a chisel grind)?

Thanks for the canoe info GT! One of my favorite aspects of the Forums is learning about unexplored patterns or blade shapes. Regarding blade shapes :) the pruning blade is ground on both sides, but rather crudely. I think I may be able to clean that up using the corners on my Sharpmaker stones, as long as I am careful not to round the tip.

A little blue with me today in support of the St. Louis Blues ;).
