What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nuthin' fancy, just a Rough Rider 1287 sheepsfoot, and a Rough Rider 603 large stockman. Both with tge classic yeller handles. Oh, and a 110 on the belt.

 How do you like that A. Wright, TsarBomba?

Like their lambsfoot knives it's strong, sturdy, has a powerful pull (7+) and snaps like a gator. It came pretty much shaving sharp, I haven't even had to touch it up. It's a little less refined than many Barlows, but given the Barlow heritage I don't mind that one bit -- I think it might hearken back to the days when Englishmen would carry them to have a sturdy, sharp, no-nonsense cutting implement on hand for any number of reasons. Since I'm rotating so many Barlows this week and next I've resolved to myself to try carrying it regularly for a little while afterwards. I want to start dropping some patina on that sweet as-ground carbon blade and give those handles some more character. Overall, for the price, can't beat it with a stick. I'm finding that I'm a big fan of the Wright company.

Here's what's in my pockets today. First is a Northwoods cocobolo bullet, with a kitten I found in the middle of the road today. Second is my grandpas old case knife, he passed away this morning.

My condolences. Glad you were able to carry his old knife in homage. I have no doubt that will be a treasured knife for the rest of your days.

Did you end up keeping the kitten? Given the timing, if it's a boy, you might want to consider giving it grandpa's name? Just an idea.

It will definitely be a treasured knife, I'm bless to have it.

My cousins and I currently have it at his house with my grandma. My dad would never let me keep it, but my cousin will probably keep it. We named it "poptart", because we always called our grandpa "paptart" gave it a bath and got the fleas off, fed it some food which it greatfully accepted, and now she's wrapped in a blanket sleeping.

Thanks for the comment on the Bose WT.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather but I somehow think that the kitten is a sign. If you decide to keep it, I have a feeling that it'll become a lifelong companion. Looks like it's already warming up to you!

Ooops posting at the same time I see. Well that's good that the kitten will have a good home!
