It IS pretty nice Jake! :D

I'm headed over to Sheffield early am, going to have these two with me

Great looking knife Will.
I'm trying to make out what that Russian article says but I'm a little out of practice.

Awesome Bose pairing SBS!

This guy all week so far.

Here's what's in my pockets today. First is a Northwoods cocobolo bullet, with a kitten I found in the middle of the road today. Second is my grandpas old case knife, he passed away this morning.

Very sad news. I'm so sorry mate, I'll tip a dram for him tonight.

That's s stunning bulldog Will :)

Gosh that's breathtaking Gev, I only discovered the farmer pattern this year but I'll doff my cap to you on that one :D

I've some frontier today;

Edit : I forgot to add, the '08 barlows were before the ppp etch was being used but i think I'm right in saying that the frontier bone ones were the first.

Dan and Paul Thanks a lot. A useful size single-blade and good in hand too. Glenn refitted it with Ivory micarta. The paper it's on is a Tsarist Russian share certificate (using the old style alphabet) raising money for a railway in Russia in April 1914.... It offers 4.5 % pa a good sum before the war broke out and in total was worth 1800 GBP in gold or equivalent French gold Francs. About 6X a national yearly wage. But.....the Great War and Revolution put paid to it all! Motto. don't trust banks, bits of paper or politicos. Gold is gold, might have a bearing today too...:eek:

Regards, Will

^^Nice blades and gotta love a wheel gun [emoji1303]

Thanks
I always enjoy seeing pictures of your Peanut. Maybe it's the way you take the pics, but the bone just really looks awesome every time you show it!
Here are some close ups of it, I only use my phone for pics so nothing fancy

Hey Pete, that peanut still going strong!!! It's been what? 3 years straight of carry?
It's me or the zippo used to be a golden one?
Believe it or not that peanut has been in my pocket and used daily for over four and a half years, the Zippo has been carried seven years, I have a few other lighters that get rotated in periodically, but this has been carried 99% of the time, it's showing some wear

Jack, Gev, Paul H I hope you fellas are doing well
Paul (pmew) nice 25's, I hope Rory is doing well
Jeff how are the girls? Hope you have found some time to do some fishing

Pete

That's the best-looking WLST I've seen yet, Paul. The finish of the bone speaks to me. Odd that it's not listed on their blog page (unless I'm just not seeing it ) - http://greateasterncutlery.net/blog/patterns/01-15/25-barlow/

It reminds me of a (significantly less valuable) recent acquisition (smack in the middle of the lineup):

That 'nut sure does make a powerful argument for the Case chestnut bone, Pete. Barring some sort of etch or design on the front, that appears to be the Zippo I used to carry before I quit smoking. You have excellent taste. :D

My Douk Douk this morning.

I have no excuse for not having acquired one of those yet... :(

2 weeks/2 Barlows, day 4:

Yep. The frontier bone was the first of the GEC barlows. They were built in 08, and GEC then begin producing a boatload of the 25s in all kinds of handle options.

Made a sheath for this knife. Really like the knife as daily carry, simple and elegant tool. The sheath is made of moose leather.

I believe they are Schrade or Camillus. Do not recall. I just received the Bicentennial Commemorative in the box yesterday in the mail. It is NOS, unsharpened blades :)

I'm about 60% sure those are Parkers, though I couldn't identify the factory (Schrade, maybe?). I've seen a similar set of red, white and blue bicentennial knives with typical polished blades. Love the way yours look with that finish!

I wonder how many pockets that Ike has seen?!

Thanks, Tom; I like that Colt a lot, too, and should probably get other patterns in that buckshot bone. (Have to admit that bone looks rather weird on a lady leg knife. :o)
Is the scout today your Primble? The handle material on your fixed blade is quite intriguing to me; looks sort of like a topographical map!

Thanks GT! Yes that is my Primble, good eye sir. The handle material on the Shaerk is TeroTuf, which to me feels like a lightly textured plastic. It is contoured perfectly, and just melts into my hand.

I am totin' these today:

Your Schrade guess is pretty much correct. These were made by Imperial, and sometimes associated with the Hammer Brand line. Part of their "forged" blade look. ETA...Although, the Parker reference may also be correct. I just went back and looked, and I see these knives with both the tang stamp shown on yours, and the Imperial stamp as well.

Thank you for the compliment and let me say your 25 collection is really making me want to get a bullet. And I too will lift a dram to your grandfather, WGregge My condolences!

Pete...I trust you and your ladies are doing well. I bet the young ladies have really grown up since I last saw a picture. Give your wife my love. Good to see you!

What a fine picture of that beauty:thumbup:

The beagle's barking in my pocket again.

I can't even remember what I was thinking when I passed on those at first. Only after I got my OSR version did I go back and find that there was still some stock available, and once I received it I felt foolish about my initial impressions. That's one handsome pup!

I guess we're even... I don't have any Barlows yet.

 Haven't you heard? Everything's better with a Barlow! :D

Headed to the beach house for the weekend. I'm sure I forgot something.

I think your wheel of goodness pretty much has all the bases covered!

Ah, I knew something looked different about those bolsters. The lines definitely do look more like Imperial/Hammer Brand than the usual Schrades (and, referring back to the three-knife Schrade-made Parker set, I also see some subtle differences between those and GASOUTHERNBOY's. Good eye, Glenn!

Carrying this Case 47 Stockman. It was a surprise gift from my wife 8 or 9 years ago when we had no extra money for these kinds of things. It's my favorite knife that I own at any price point and one I'll have forever.
