What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

But since the images drew you out of the woodwork I'm gonna thank both Menefee and my lucky stars! Great to see you here, Ford. You've been missed big time!

I am humbled by your kindness my brother. I hope to return more often to this old home of mine in the not too distant future. So many good people frequent here, and I have great memories of years past on the front porch of the traditional forum. My best to all my many friends here, sincerely.

I love the recurve on those blades Elliott! Rick did a great job, but when doesn't he? :D

Today is this:

Thanks, Robert. It's a really unique knife...not something one sees every day. I'm very pleased I sort of backed into it...

Thank you. It's molasses jigged bone. I am not sure if they are available separately with this handle material since the knives are from Case's Tony Bose commemorative set. Tony Bose picked out the jigged bone and shields for the set. They're my first examples of these patterns and I'm VERY happy with them -- they're a joy to use. The Sway Back is a great pattern. The chestnut CV sway back (posted by yobbos1) has been on my to buy list for a while.

That's kinda what I was afraid of, they're beauties. I may have to settle for the Chestnut version (or find a set somehow ;) ). Thanks

Neither did I when this was my only slipjoint. Now that I've experienced stag and jigged bone I can't go back, they just don't compare.

Oh I would choose good bone or stage first too. But I guess since my first knife was a Schrade that delrin has a special place in my heart. I like it alot.

Interesting piece Elliott
what's a catch bit?
thanks

Max, it's a sort of spacer which is installed alongside the secondary blade to allow the fitting of a longer master blade and to allow the two blades to nest (and pass) alongside one another without rubbing. (This is a simple explanation.)

Still getting to know this humpback half whittler. I touched up the clip point on my bench strop, and now it's hair-popping!

I always seem to gravitate toward this one when I'm itchin' to carry somethin' different.

I know it's a Frost Cutlery knife but I bought it in the 80s at the first Allentown Fair I ever went to in PA, so it has sentimental value plus it's a damn good knife, made well, F&F are excellent, while the Walk and Talk are comparable to any $150+ production slipjoint made today.

Anyway it's a Frost Cutlery Black Hawk 2 One armed razor knife with a hawkbill secondary blade, not sure what the blade material is, (probally just a 440 variation) but it take and holds a decent edge, scales are what was originally known as Pakawood or Zebrawood.

Overall it's a great little EDC.

BTW, that's a piece of a 150 year old oak that feel across my creek a little over a month and a half ago, (it's from 40 ft above the root base)

This one has been in my pocket along with another knife by Rick, but yesterday, I placed it into a car repair manual to hold my place and dang if I did not forget it:o, the book folded up on its on then I picked the book up later and the concrete floor did not treat the point very nice. I put a new point on it by using a diamond stone on the top of the blade rounding it downward. It just makes me sick:(, guess it will be the next back to Rick for a spa treatment.

Due to the June challenge, I am still carrying the muskrat on the right side of this picture:
