What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It may not be rare, old, or fancy, but it makes me happy. Picked this one up today.

I hope it brings you a canoe full of joy! I like the looks of it:thumbup::thumbup::D Welcome

Thank you fine gents!! Jack, I sure do like the IXL serp and can't quite figure out the background in the photo?

Jeff

Off the charts again today! Have a great BBQ and we want pictures of the brisket...lol

Woke up early today to dye this Amber bone Mini Trapper Cap Lifter from Case. I'm pretty happy with the results.

As well you should be! Scrolling quickly through, your knife caught my eye and my brain started going "I didn't know Case made a red bone version" and, "Wow-- Case got red right again, at last!" all at once.

Then I read your actual words.

Very nicely done.

Great knives and wonderful pics of them today folks!

Kris, if that brisket is as good as the knives you've been posting, I'm on the next plane! That Dean looks like it's made to be carried and used.

Same knife, new pic for me. Have a great Sunday everyone!

What a stunner:thumbup:

Dropped this li'l Kabar Jack in my pocket today. I'd been carrying the GEC #14 2-blade all week. I love it and hope sometime down the line they make a clip blade version. Something like this. :D

Thanks! This one is really one of my favorites. Brent Cramer really came through for me on this LC Jr. That being said, I've never seen one of his knives that I didn't admire.

definitely hoping to see single clip 14s here as well

I found an old knife of mine (actually found a couple) in an old box of forgotten stuff. All cleaned up and a fresh edge and ready for service again. :D

Nice one Bob. There is something about stagalon that takes me back to my youth and simpler times. I really enjoy great photos of it.

Thanks Mike. Stagalon. I was trying to remember what they called these composite covers. My mind is gone. Hahaha :p

I feel a little silly sharing the same knife over and over again but I almost always have the little 22 with me, whether it's riding solo or acting as back up.

Nice carries the last two days Kris.
Some might be interested that Harvey Dean was recently inducted into the American Bladesmith Society Hall of Fame. These inductions only happen every four years.

Thanks Chris, I appreciate you adding that info, and hope others do as well.

Kris, that WT is gorgeous! I love that Damascus pattern. Beautiful picture!

Thanks, and have a great Sunday!

Thank you gentlemen, the best way to cook brisket into "meat candy" is simple and un-complex, yet hard to do. It all starts with a good brisket from a quality source, I trim my own brisket and it is a very important step. I keep it light on the rub, with only salt and Tellecherry fresh ground pepper, slow and low(250F) with lots of hickory. Notice my new shelving, replaced the cheap original with nice thick, Alder hardwood.

On for the day,

Thanks Gev, it's the remains of one of the old Sheffield blister steel furnaces

That's some wonderful stag Gary

That looks like it has plenty of use left in it Bob

I think it is Staglon, there have been a few threads about it over the years

Reaching the end of a good day with the family :)

Good stuff mate :)

Just got back from the range doing a little cleaning.
Man, this 1897 doesn't kick like a normal 12 gauge, very manageable

That it does Jack. Near full blades and smooth walk on all three blades. It is Staglon, I just couldn't remember it this morning. ;)
