Nice looking 98! And I hear you about the fruits and veggies. If nothing else, putting a patina on my Boker stockman has been good for my diet.

After just about 3 weeks of only carrying the 74 Spring Green Stallion, I thought it was time to give an old friend a new edge. STJ for today.

GT Thank you! Limes go well on it too but perhaps not at breakfast :D
...
Regards, Will
:D Limes, oranges, it's all citrus! I like traditional knives, but I try not to let tradition dictate my breakfast! :grumpy:

That would be a 98 cattle knife, huge sucker, thanks for asking:thumbup:
Thanks for the info, itzig (and VashHash).

My Schrade Walden 708 today.

That's a zesty knife, ecallahan!

Yesterday's mailbox, today's pocket.

YES!! Another elk one for you, Alan? I admire the knife, but the baseball and seashells remind me that pitchers/catchers have reported to spring training!

... Nice line-up today GT

Is that a Whittler or a Wharncliffe (looks like there are only two blades)? Certainly a nice knife
You're very welcome, traditional patterns can be very confusing, and manufacturers sometimes get them wrong. If it does have two blades, it is actually a 'Wharncliffe Knife' PATTERN. With three blades, it would be a 'Wharncliffe Whittler'
...
Thanks, Jack. :) Could that "Willamette Whittler" be called a "Wharncliffe Half-Whittler" or is that another made-up designation?

Gary
Thank you for your kind words! Your recap helped me to see a few knives I would have missed. The huntsman pic reminds me of an old friends old rustic ranch house
You're welcome, Gev. I'm not sure why the Huntsman photo reminds you of a rustic ranch house, but coincidentally, that photo was taken in a rustic lakeside cottage where we vacation each summer for a week or two. ;)

The ol' Boker 494 is helping me prep for a hunting trip. Been in my pocket every day for the past ear and a half or more. A constant companion.

Well-kept Böker, jmarston!

Still loving my new peanut.
You've got some vivid patina going on that venerable little Imperial, H&S!

Great knives everyone!

I, please forgive me, haven't carried a knife in the past couple of days.

Major snowstorm up here that I had to deal with.

Here's a picture of the only family member who enjoys snow.

Have a good one!

Ken K.
Ken, I hope you and your canine helper have dug out successfully. ;)

Today was a Blood Red Jigged Bone Northfield #47 Viper. :)

You sure have some vibrant Vipers, Ron!

...
Thank you, Gary! I'm down to one Presidential now (the best one in my opinion); the Case is a pen knife and a favorite one at that.

I see you also have been a ring-opener beneficiary from Jack. :) They are such special knives and from a special person.
Thanks for the follow-up, Dean. :) So your maroon/reddish Presidential has moved on? You're certainly right about Jack and ring-openers! Unique and useful knives!

The days are getting longer. Through the winter most of my pictures are taken during the morning since it is normally dark by the time I get home from work. However, this evening there was enough light to take a few pictures.

Cool pic, Travman!

Today was an Imperial USA Peanut (thanks to Fishcakes), and a Colt Stockman (CT429 with dyed scales).

Congrats on the vintage Imperial (and other tools), bflying! I saw in another thread that you did an interesting "refinish" to the handles! That Colt looks good (and IIRC also has "refinished" covers via a dye job?).

Another IXL day :)

Intriguing pics of tasteful knives, Jack!

Ebony and Ivory on shift with me today (Macassar and Mammoth) ;)

~Chip
Stately pair, Chip; kind of Beauty and the Beast!

The most recent resident of r8shell's Home for Old and Worn Knives,
Thank you, though he says he could work another 90 years. You know how stubborn old guys can get. :D
Yes, I do :grumpy:; I'm livin' the dream! :D Glad to see you're still taking in refugees, r8shell; what maker for that knife? (You know how near-sighted old guys can get. ;))

Desk knife with worm groove bone at the office today:)
That's a resplendent relic, Ernie!

Watchpocket Knife of the Week for me is a Taylor-Schrade-Imperial mini canoe with cracked ice covers:

It's stamped Walden Knife Co.
Here's the old fellow when I found him:

Good catch Gary (pun intended). Baseball, beach, and pocket knives, the joys of retirement.

That's a nice one Ernie

Thanks, Jack. :) Could that "Willamette Whittler" be called a "Wharncliffe Half-Whittler" or is that another made-up designation?

I'm afraid to say that the term 'Half-Whittler' is just gibberish my friend, even more so than 'Half-Congress', another made-up designation, which I don't think we should be seeing here. Check out the reference originally cited by Jake. I don't think Mr Levine gets absolutely everything right, but he certainly knows his onions when it comes to traditional patterns ;)

Thanks again pal, nice covers on that Electrician's Knife

He looks a lot better for the nose-job r8shell! ;) :D

Good-looking Kent

Great knives everyone! Well done!

Thanks for the comments on my snow removal helper Paul and Gary.

We have another storm rolling in tonight.

I carried these two today. A Case Barlow and a Vic Popular.

Have a good one!
