What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

IMG_4451_zpsw5nzrqcu.jpg

GT, I don't know if anything Mike Myers did was ever "Must See", but if you enjoyed anything he did in the early-mid 90s, I'm sure you'd get some chuckles out of it. I thoroughly enjoy his character Stuart Mackenzie, though.

"Alright, give your mother a kiss, or I'll kick your teeth in."
Thanks, Shawn. Sounds like I won't call in sick so I can stay home to watch it, but maybe some rainy summer weekend... :D

Old Shapleigh Diamond Edge barlow today...

You have such fine old Barlows, Atiger!

Thanks my friend :) I was in the chair a good while, but I have never minded visiting the dentist. In fact I've just bought mine a bottle of whisky! :D Yes, I think you are probably right about that! :D The plaque must be new, it's outside Sheffield train station. The city is indeed named after the River Sheaf. Half a mile or so from that spot, the Sheaf flows into the larger River Don, and close to the confluence is where Sheffield Castle stood, on the banks of the Sheaf. While it's a small river, it was significant in being the boundary between the ancient kingdoms of Mercia and Northumbria, Sheffield forming part of the latter.
...
LOL! :D Thanks :) You look well prepared as always :)
Thanks for the first-rate history/geography lesson, Jack!
I think you're fortunate to not mind visiting the dentist. I've considered bringing a bottle of whiskey to the dentist's office, but for me, not him!
As far as being prepared is concerned, I try to follow the advice of my (Rough Rider) Electrician. ;)

Sugar pie honey bunch
I know I'm in love with you
I'll do anything ...anything you ask me to
I just can't help myself....ya ;):D

The Four Top rock! Sent me down memory lane Gary
Glad to be of service, Gev; I enjoyed a lot of funky Motown tunes back in the day. Sometimes it seems like the music is all I remember any more of the 60s and 70s!:p

Wow, that's a flawless specimen, tomsch!

Carrying my one and only Lanny's Clip, in anticipation of receiving my second this week :).

Congrats on the incoming new Lanny's Clip, Tom. Your current one is certainly foxy!

Thanks, Gary. I like the little cutouts on my Case Scout, too. Of the tools, I have only used the blade and punch, although the screwdriver/bottle opener has been eyeing my electrical outlet screws.

Those Rough Riders are really good looking! And quite impressive when you show three of them at the same time.
...
At home (like I am now with a killer cold), this Barlow has the place of honor on the end table near me. Schrade Cut Co.

Thanks for the tool usage update for the Case Scout, Dean. Thanks also for the RR compliments; I'm an unapologetic fan of the brand. That Schrade Barlow of yours with the "dimpled jigging" is one of my favorites! Hope the cold doesn't last long.

Fantastic red knife, Dee! Great pic that makes me wonder if TC stands for Thrillingly Crimson or Terrific Clip.

68 Pony Jack.

Fantastic black knife, Bob! Can't beat an equal-ender.

...
Gary, as you pointed out, I will still follow the red/black theme. I guess it's just my favorite combination.

It's a Vic Pioneer and a 2010 forum knife today.

Have a good one!

Ken K.
Fantastic red and black knives again, Ken! I happen to be carrying some red knives and some black knives this week, and, inspired by you, I think I'll post them together below. ;)

After cleaning out globs of jeweler's rouge from between everywhere, removing fluff & buff gloss, "assisting" with a bit of patina, and putting an edge on the blades, this ole Case now looks and cuts like well-made, reasonably cared for 50 year old knife. It does to me, anyways. :o

Nice clean-up job, GE Jr, and congrats on that fetching Case Barlow!

Some wonderful knives being posted by everyone. I am running behind on my posting. I need to just retire and spend more time on the forum. :D
I got this one in the mail Friday. I dropped it in my pocket an haven't looked back since! CASE Small Copperlock in CV and Yeller Delrin. ;)

Very fashionable, Ron; congrats on the new copperlock! I can relate to the highlighted sentence. In fact, my employer announced a modest voluntary retirement incentive program last week, and I'm seriously considering it! I'm just not doing my job the way I used to be able to, due to some minor health issues that I thought would be temporary but have now lasted over two years with the doctors still not sure what's up!

Man, you take some fabulous photos of good old Rosie, FBC; I really admire the way you capture the grain in the handle!

...
This was one of my first GEC's, and it remains one of my absolute favourites, I really like the #66 frame. Hope you're feeling better Dean, and that everyone else is having a good week

First-class knife and fascinating photo, Jack! I don't know what time of year you took the pic, but I'm desperately in need of some signs of spring, and that's how I'm going to interpret the bare trees contrast with the green fields. That photo suggests to me that spring is about to burst forth at any time now, just like the buds on the trees will soon explode!:D

I'm carrying some black knives and some red knives this week, and inspired by Ken K., I'm going to post them together here today.

Nice photo ^^ 👍👍

Thank you, Alan! I may break out some sea shells as I always like your photos with them. Two great Cases today. I love the lock back.

Thank you, my friend! I would love to see it. Interesting that your wife collects them :D

Thanks Gevo, I only wish knives were as easy to get as sea shells. Especially considering I've got a place on Sanibel (shell) Island.

Puma today....

Nice Puma! Is that the 255? I've got one marked 39382 on the pile side lock lever. I carried it for years. It always had a little vertical play but not enough to bother me.
