What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Paul that's a great pattern and a beautiful knife my friend! Unfortunately from my limited experience with Queen products, thick edges are quite common. :(

Jack that is a fine pair from W Rodgers to spend the day with. That Lamb Foot is a jewel!

Wishing everyone a fine weekend! Today I'm carrying two that are special to me! I bought the 1972 Case Stockman new in 1973. I carried it as my daily knife for probably at least 25 years. I gifted it to my Father for helping me with a project in my home! After my Mother had passed in July 2009 and my Dad had advanced problems with Alzheimer's Pam and I were staying nights with him in his home. I discovered the knife tucked away in one of his many tool boxes. He had managed to break the Spey blade. I showed it to him and asked his permission to take back possession. I will never forget his response as long as I live! "Take care of that knife, my oldest son gave it to me!" He passed in December 2009. I sent the knife back to the good people at Case and they replaced the Spey and gave it a good sharpening. The Stag teardrop is a past Fathers Day gift from my Daughter! :D

Congratulations on that beautiful Stag 76 Bob! I only have one 76, also a Stag. I bought it from Christine the very first time Pam and I ever walked into the sales room at Great Eastern! :D The next time we talk I will be interested in hearing your comments on the pattern.

Thanks Rachel! That Kent is a fine looking Jack Knife. I don't have my reading glasses with me today so I must ask. Is the Stag real or man made? Regardless it's a great ole knife!

Thanks, Ron. Kent knives were made by Camillus for Woolworth's (1931-1955). Very cheap knives, not only are the "stag" handles man-made, they are a thick, molded or pressed form of celluloid. This may be why you don't see many around these days.

That's a cool Kent, Gev. Is it the same material with black coating?
I just put an edge on mine and the steel felt pretty soft, so I'll see how the edge holds up if I can find something to cut today. :D

I'm guessing it is quite similar. The steel on mine is wonderful and takes and keeps a fine edge.
