What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sorry for posting twice but I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to multi quote from different pages.

Cool combo Jack

Thanks Tom, multi-quoting is certainly not as straightforward as it used to be, thanks for persevering

Awesome! Thanks Buzzbait Buzzbait , what a terrific resource. The one thing I don't see is the steel type. Doesn't appear to be stainless, did they use 1095?

If it's carbon steel, it's most likely 1095.

I believe that the "Sword Steel" stainless knives were 440A and sometimes maybe 440B, depending on who you believe.

Well I am about 100 pages behind at this point.. but I just spend about 30 drooling mins staring at all of your cool knives! Today I was able to check off perhaps my greatest grail hunt...a Scagle Fruitport in ivory arrived from a member I am very grateful to. This one is going straight into the rotation :)

Congrats Drew. It's a beautiful example. I have one Northwoods Scagel. It's a two blade stag. It too is a beauty, although a little large to carry. That just means there's more to fondle. The fruit port is magnificent.

Thank you very much! I bet your stag Scagel is stunning!

Great news. Found my watch too, was in the tip of my running shoe (and I'd torn the gym bag apart but hadn't checked the shoes) LOL.

Still carrying my blue bone NW Madison Barlow. For being as large as it is, when in it's KSF slip it stands vertical in my inner coin pocket and I hardly notice it. Interesting too that once I got over carrying what was for me a fairly expensive piece I now don't think twice about it.:D

i have been carving her initial all over America for years. come to think of it i used all sorts of knives.. long befor i knew about bladeforums. this is the nicest knife i have ever had that i sought out. she paid for it..... thank you Lori Kaye...:)

Congratulations Drew

Cutting my way with this pair by William Rodgers today :) Have a great weekend everyone

Just arrived today, a 2010 Bladeforum Moose. A very SOLID and BEEFY knife. I quite like this robust knife. Thick edge on both (more on the spear) blades but after sometime she cuts very very well now:thumbsup:

Paul that's a great pattern and a beautiful knife my friend! Unfortunately from my limited experience with Queen products, thick edges are quite common. :(

Jack that is a fine pair from W Rodgers to spend the day with. That Lamb Foot is a jewel!

Wishing everyone a fine weekend! Today I'm carrying two that are special to me! I bought the 1972 Case Stockman new in 1973. I carried it as my daily knife for probably at least 25 years. I gifted it to my Father for helping me with a project in my home! After my Mother had passed in July 2009 and my Dad had advanced problems with Alzheimer's Pam and I were staying nights with him in his home. I discovered the knife tucked away in one of his many tool boxes. He had managed to break the Spey blade. I showed it to him and asked his permission to take back possession. I will never forget his response as long as I live! "Take care of that knife, my oldest son gave it to me!" He passed in December 2009. I sent the knife back to the good people at Case and they replaced the Spey and gave it a good sharpening. The Stag teardrop is a past Fathers Day gift from my Daughter! :D
