What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

when the edge meets the swell/hump of the back spring inside the blade well when closing the knife. Usually results in a chipped or dinged blade when the user is not aware of this and snaps the knife closed

Laguioles are notorious for this.

Will definitely post them, and since lefties aren't as common and Buck only recently started to produce a left handed leather sheath for them my pics may be the only pictures of such a combo on the forum.

Btw great combo you're totin' today :thumbsup:

@Will Power Happy Independence Day!

To make it complete, if you were here we could put some rounds through my M39. Barrel is stamped 1942, the Russian receiver is from 1907. I always thought it was ironic that Finland bought the leftover/captured Russian M91s from WWI, put a new barrel and stock on them to make M39s, and then used them against the Russians during WWII.

Thanks my friend :) LOL! No, definitely not, it's in an old roofed market-hall, and a bit gloomy! Classic GT line-up There :) :thumbsup:

Thank you, Jack. I assure you, Blade Rap is not referring to any musical ventures I might be entertaining... :D

Rather it is the term that is used in regards to the occurrence when the edge meets the swell/hump of the back spring inside the blade well when closing the knife. Usually results in a chipped or dinged blade when the user is not aware of this and snaps the knife closed. I wasn't aware of this and have opened and closed the knife a number of times simply because the action overall is so pleasing. As a result, I got a bit of a chip in the edge and I can see where it is hitting the back spring inside.

It will eventually sharpen out and there will come a time when I can enjoy its fine walk and talk again without fear of blade damage, but until then, I will just close it more carefully.

I think I got that term right, I merely capitalized it to add some dramatic flair to my statement.

Good use of dramatic flair Dylan! :) :D I wondered if that was what you meant, a most annoying situation. In the short-term, if the blade is deep enough in the well to keep the point covered, I usually add a very thin shim of balsa wood to give a little cushioning :thumbsup:

Thanks, guys. The folks at Wrights did a fine job with that horn.

Today was a "work around the house" day so the chisel tipped Mora was called into hard work duty and the MAM sliced apples.

I hope they get some more of that red stuff :) Good working pair my friend :thumbsup:

I'm carrying these two today, A.Wright Guardians Lambsfoot and a Needham NAAFI knife (from Duncan) :) :thumbsup:
