What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I agree with your assessment of Enigma's blade grinds, they are ground really thin the way I like them. And they use some good steels, too. Mine is US 2000 MC, which is essentially the same as Cruwear. I happen to have mine in my pocket today.

Got a Us2000 and an M390 Enigma, both are outstanding! They are going to come out with a different pattern too. Not sure when but I’m watching, they tend to post on IG first.

I fixed the broken tip on the sheepfoot, and removed all the active rust. I was going to do more fettling, but after looking at it a while, I decided to call it finished. The rough pitted texture is kinda growing on me.

That would grow on me too. Despite the broken tip and letting it rust, the blades look like they were hardly ever sharpened. All the steel is there, which makes it a worthy candidate for rescue.

Nice job, and I agree that's some killer patina.

Yep, mine also use US2000MC. In the last two runs it was the only Steel they've been using

Definetly looking forward to a new pattern; as nice as they are now, I can't stand spearpoints

- mmm, so very nice, Jack......always linger a bit to look at that one - cannot wait for mine.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Thanks a lot Paul, you too my friend

I've been off the forums for almost a month and I think that this thread has moved on about 100 pages?
Been carrying my olive Joker for over a month now.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday

Good to see you back Donn, those Jokers are great little knives aren't they? :) That graveyard looks very familiar

Thanks Jack, it's good to be back. I have missed not being on the forum. My 78 year old mum had a fall early December so I didn't even think of BF for awhile as I've been caring for her.
The Jokers are great knives. It's what I had in my pocket when my mum had her fall and apart from my Vic Farmer I've not touched another knife. It's held it's edge well considering I've only stropped it once?
I bet you do recognize the churchyard. It's St Lawrence's in Eyam, in Derbyshire. The large cross in the background with the iron chainlink about it is the 8th Century High Anglican Cross. A cracking village where I stopped to have lunch

Very sorry to hear about your mum Donn, I hope she is recovered now  The fellers in Whitby had told me Joker had stopped making that model a couple of years back, but I was able to pick up another at a shop in Pickering a month or so back :) I had thought of Eyam :D I was there last year, but hadn't been there for about 15 years before that. I can remember going to the hall there, with my mother and grandmother, on a Mother's Union trip when I was three! I think it was still a private residence then. It is indeed a cracking village, and that is a cracking pic my friend :)

Nicely done :)

I think the faux hand-hammered finish looks great! :D
Very nice you to Rescue that Kabar r8shell r8shell . I did not see the Before picture of it , but it must have been basically rusted closed .

Thanks! It had what real estate people call "good bones" and surprisingly, the covers were in great shape. Some times I think a broken tip can save a knife. When the fool who broke it thinks it's ruined and throws it in a junk drawer, it escapes the daily grind.

What's going on there? :D
