What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This one has a dedicated pocket slip and gets spoiled. It did do some honest box break down earlier though!

Man that's a handsome knife!

Great looking knives everyone! Would love to share a few but am to old to figure out how..can anyone guide me on the easiest way to post a pic? Thanks

Nothing fancy but I keep returning to this one for everyday carry. Main blade has great snap and utilises both springs on this slim, little whittler. Nice too to have a knife with a spear point main amongst my mainly stockman users. :)

I have one of those. Nice knife and the spear blade is a pleasant change from most of my other knives. The main on mine is really stiff. (My biggest complaint with RR is variation in pull from knife to knife, even in identical knives.) The pen and coping blades are so thin they make great slicers.

Knife of the day is Lionsteel big opera. This stretches the criteria for traditional folding knife so I apologise if I break rules. This is the most solid lockback I own, no play in any direction. Also it opens very smoothly, but opening it is a bit difficult because there is little to grasp and no nail nick. Maybe I should try to make one?

I thought about making an easy opening notch but the liners are sceletonised so much that there is really nothing to grind in to. The knife is very light for the size.

Love the (Olive?)wood on the Capucin Jack.
Friction folders can be a pain to carry thanks to the dang tangs, but they work just fine for most cutting needs.

Thanks my friend, yes olive wood. I don't mind friction folders, but the Capucin is a bit on the large size

Great pic Dylan

Excellent job r8shell, you got a nice one there

Snowing here, and I'm off to the dentist, got these two on me

I saw this cheerful knife before breakfast yesterday, @paulhilborn , and was inspired to put half a banana in my oatmeal and have the other half with peanut butter on toast!:thumbsup:;)

Just these today.

@Planterz , if you need to cut stuff, tough to do any better than "just" those two!:thumbsup::cool:

Carrying my Unity Lambsfoot today, along with a recently-acquired Capucin, can't really see me taking to this one, but I thought I'd give it a whirl

Interesting pair, Jack Black Jack Black !:thumbsup::cool: Please let us hear what you think of that friction folder.

Because today is Tuesday, there is a (TC) star in the sky!!!

Another arresting photo with that captivating TC framed in the circular stone, Senhor Pinto!!!:thumbsup::cool:

Striking red/black combo, Ron!!:cool::cool::thumbsup: Those Presidentials always grad my attention, and your red jigged bone version is exquisite!

Thank you my friend :) My old skool was just a stone's throw from where I lived, you could tell that because all the window's were broken! ;) :D That Half Hawk is a nice pattern GT, and a good-looking knife
...
:D:D Thanks for the Half Hawk homage, Jack. :)

Thanks, GT. It's a solid old knife and I'm really lucky to be carrying it around. I pulled it out to cut some bulk cordage at our local hardware store and several of the regulars asked to see it. We had a great impromptu show 'n tell.

You are showing some really radiant R&Rs. I like canoes, but that Half Hawk capsizes me.
- Stuart
Sounds like a good time, Stuart! ;) Thanks for the encouraging words; the Half Hawk is a big knife, but it's one of my favorites. :)

Thank you, GT! Please forgive my forgetfulness, I meant to respond to you the other day but the weekends have found me quite busy, as of late. But I took a picture just for you. :D

I really like the looks of that Half Hawk, seems like it would be an immensely useful knife.

I am breaking from the norm and carrying these two for a change today.

Thanks for the Sunday School song pic, Dylan - red and yellow, black and white!:cool:;)
I think of the Half Hawk as my Rough Rider substitute for a GEC Hay'n Helper. RR often disappoints me with the uneven dye jobs on their smooth bone (jigged bone is usually great), but the rich uniform brown on the Half Hawk is outstanding, I think.
A woodless day for you seems unusual, but the bonny bone is certainly a worthy replacement!:cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on getting that marvelous knife back, Jason!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Busy day at work today, so back to the tried and true Camillus C4.

NOW my world has stopped rocking, with that majestic Camillus scout back in Buzz's pocket! ;):cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great Stag single-spring you very kindly gave me:cool: paired with an Osage 73 liner-lock. ...

Congrats on the striking Böker, @Northwestcut ! Grand green bone, and that curved shield on the congress pattern is one of my favorites.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Two for Tuesday. A Vic Recruit and a Queen 31. I don't need much more for the day ahead.

Prestigious pair, Stuart!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I enjoy the simplicity and utility of a Vic Recruit!

Nothing fancy but I keep returning to this one for everyday carry. Main blade has great snap and utilises both springs on this slim, little whittler. Nice too to have a knife with a spear point main amongst my mainly stockman users. :)

Outstanding whittler, Mark!!:thumbsup::cool: I bought one of those (maybe inspired by yours??) and liked it so much that I bought another to give to a fortunate someone sometime. ;)

Took these 2 Old Friends to the YMCA and coffee with friends this morning . Have not carried them much lately . Mr. Russell & Mr. Oates .
...

Changed them out for Two TEW's Tuesday for GT .
The darker one is Ox Horn and the other is Rams Horn , both made in 2014.

Harry
Thanks for thinking of me on Two TEWs Tuesday, Harry! ;):thumbsup: That is definitely a quality quartet you're showing off there; the horn Barlows are the first TEWs I remember ever seeing!:cool::cool:

Still likin' Queenie.

Yowza!!:thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup: @Venice , I'm likin' that magnificent Queen canoe, too!

Good stuff GT. Good to see the RRs so well represented amongst a range of truly beautiful knives. It's great to be able to lay hands on such a range of knives without breaking the bank. Can only be a good thing for the continuation of traditional folders.
