Thanks GT, that's the Victorian railway viaduct in the North Yorkshire market town of Knaresborough

I watched this, and wondered, "These guys got paid for this?" But then the Jamaica joke landed, and it was all worth it! :p:D:D

It's taken from the film 'The Colditz Story', a 1955 film about a famous German WW2 POW camp. In that scene, they use a concert and its rehearsals to cover the digging of a tunnel, and the consequent escape. Obviously, put half a dozen British officers together in one place, and they're bound to use it as an excuse to dress up and put on a concert, irrespective of the circumstances! :D The real story is actually very interesting

There's even a board game! :D

The maths teachers are multiplying! ;) Welcome to The Porch John

That is called Wandering Jew (or, as Wikipedia just told me, Tradescantia pallida) . Later in the season when it gets more sunlight, it will flower and the leaves will turn a deep purple.

For Wooden Wednesday, I'm totin' this large (4.5") Smith & Wesson lockback hunter, This thing is a tank, but with clean lines. According to Goins, S&W made their own knives from 1974 until 1986 when production was taken over by Vermont Cutlery. Current production may be by Taylor Brands. This knife's only marking is Made in USA stamped on pile side tang.

EDITED TO ADD: the greenish spots on the blade and bolster are a reflection of a large white oak, I haven't abused the knife (though I doubt it would show).

My Dad has a S&W fixed 4"drop point hunter of that era. Fit and finish are amazing, truly mirror polish zero blemishes in the blade. Has the same emblem inlaid in the handle, think its same as the grip badge from the handguns of that time.edit: pretty sure the blade profile is the same as your folder, with is a beautiful piece btw.

So very true, Ron. What a tragic loss.

As many others have done today, I have had my Northwoods knife with me today. Rest in peace, Derrick.

So appropriate my friend! When you take time to really get acquainted with the workmanship and the design of the Presidential you realize just how special they are. :D
