What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today, and for days and days before. Didn't think much of it (except it's very nice !) but this little guy keeps growing on me : tight fit with no wiggle or wobble whatever, solid open blade, smooth and gorgeous desert wood, pure and extremely simple design (one rivet !), D2 and razor sharp blade (didn't event touch it up yet)... It's made by H.Ohta but I'm disappointed the blade isn't branded with his name (I can live with that...).

Hope everyone has had a good week :) I'm carrying these two for Black Friday ;)

Ebony looks so classy to me; and you are carrying two spectacular knives, Jack! I think that the Congress Jack is one of the best designs GEC has made.:thumbsup:

We’re going to town for some appointments this morning. I’m taking this two along. :)

Thanks a lot Dean :) 'True Crimson' is a great name for a knife! :D :)

2Dead 2Dead I think Ken follows vintage patterns very closely. Ken hasn't done many sabre grinds. The changes make the knife (IMO) more usable. I hope he starts making knives again, he's a very talented guy.
Agreed on all points
Thanks for the reply and links!

Wonderful knives...
You're welcome :)

All these pics of #15s inspired me to pull out one of mine to use today (well, since yesterday actually.) 152214 with Nifebrite Acrylic

Well, ain't you sumpin'?

I've been carrying a little Buck 524 Alumni for the past week, going to add one of the new Buck 110 LT "Smoke Jumper" synthetic's today (for a fishing knife this afternoon). OH

Bodacious Bucks, OH!

An Enigma and a Simons' 'gents' which is a great complement to almost anything else.

That Enigma is exhilarating, Alan.

r8shell r8shell and TheChunk91 TheChunk91 Those are fine looking knives, really fine. Thanks for sharing them.

Many thanks Mr. GT, the man is a typical figure of Miranda do Douro "o Menino da Cartolinha", the waves should refer to the river Douro!!!
Manly figure! Thanks for the information, sir!:)

Magical knife and sheath!! :cool::thumbsup:

Mmm-mmm, that knife is the berries!:cool:

Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be stockmans (even in Solingen)! Classic, indeed!:cool::thumbsup:

Magnificent pairs for Timber Thicket Thursday, Ron & Jack! ;):thumbsup::cool:

... I only brought two in pocket, but I had to bring my little box of favorites to pull out and look at (two weeks is too long to be away from the whole collection). Have a fun trip!
Maniacs, we're ALL maniacs here! ;)

Good morning from the great Republic of Texas!
More Massive! Don't those knives look bigger since you arrived in Texas, Joshua?? :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

For a Throwback Thursday, I'm totin' this Queen model 61 (1958-1960) just in case I run into a herd of steers-in-waiting on my walk to the local hardware store today. Giddy-up!

Magisterial, Ken!:thumbsup::cool: (Too bad he didn't have a hummingbird with him in that portrait! :p)

On my hike today...

Since today is Flag Day in the U.S.A as well as the 243rd anniversary of the U.S. Army (I'm an Army Vet), I carried this one.

And because I wanted a Barlow in my pocket, I carried this one.

Memorable holiday memorials, Alan & Dean!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I echo everyone's sentiments, that is a great picture. So good, in fact, I will show it to my wife. Which will promptly put me in the doghouse, she has a rather unhealthy fear of the amphibious quadrupeds. :D
...
I have eschewed the black (albeit briefly) and gone with a pair with a bit more color today.

Much merriment both with the missus (Dylan, you dog, you SHOULD be in the doghouse :D) and with the mind-blowing colors!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This #15 is in my pocket today.
Mesmerizing glows emanating from your equipment, Perry!:cool::thumbsup:

Carried these 2 to the YMCA and then to coffee with some friends . These 2 just make me feel real good .

...
While at coffee , one of my friends , gave me a knife like he used to give out to customers of his when he was a V.P. of International Sales for his company . ...

Then when we got home , I switched out to Old Faithful work knife

Majestic mound of knives, Harry. Cool melon tester, and the TEW I missed the day before.:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you, GT. GEC is in the middle of a rather sizable production run of their #15 Boys Knife pattern. This one in Ebony came by way of mail yesterday and I decided to pocket it as soon as I took it out of its tube.

I would say the Ebony, though quite dark, is not as black as some of the other knives I have. It is still quite attractive though and I have zero complaints about it, especially given the variation I have come to expect in the Ebony offerings as of late. I really do like the #15 pattern, though I particularly prefer the 2-blade versions (the single blades are decidedly small for me), but some of the things that I find most desirable are the steel construction (bolsters, liners, pins, etc), the pocketable size, and the exceptional walk and talk that I have discovered to be a hallmark of this pattern. Here the single blade version is paired with its brother with 2 blades.

Wonderful selection of knives today, GT. That stag is exquisite and that Case is real looker!
Major-league review of the new ebony 15s, Dylan.:thumbsup: Thanks for that and for the compliments. :)

5K Qs 5K Qs ,

That is a Camillus TL27 which I turned into a single blade jack.
Like most Camis, it takes a wickedly sharp edge.
Thank you for asking!
Mesmerizing mod, Jeff; thanks for the info.:cool::cool:

Nice to be off, I brought the Beer Scout, my #77, my stag #73...my new #15 clip and my new antique TC are sitting in my mail box...

Thanks, Gary! Your Tribal Lock appears to be a good looking handful!
Thanks, GT. That Case is a champ!!

- Stuart
Much obliged, Dean & Stuart. :) The Tribal Lock is mildly massive, and I'm not sure why I'm drawn to some of the bigger knives.

...
Thanks GT, that's very nice to hear :) Nice threesome my friend :)

Hope everyone has had a good week :) I'm carrying these two for Black Friday ;)
