What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Peregrin Peregrin dang I wish it were 73 here. It was 93 yesterday and 95 today with a heat index of 105. My upstairs a/c went out yesterday and now my downstairs heat pump is not working either....oh well, time to get out the big checkbook.
Jerry, I'm waiting for my 34 year old ac system to crap out on me. I've had the original hvac company servicing it almost yearly. When it dies I figure he'll come running. That's been my experience so far.
Good luck and keep cool!

A most superb work knife, I just don't use it as much as I should because it's pretty bulky in the pocket compared to other patterns I frequent. I think I'll use it more this summer.

:D:D:thumbsup:

I don't know about Imperial of Germany, but I come across similar little pen knives from time to time. The bottom one in this picture with the carved pearl is marked Wismar, Germany. I'll have to dig it out to see if it has integral bolsters.

After some tinkering, I'm giving this Imperial from Trevor (@t.willy) a test run today. Thanks, Trevor!

It definitely looks similar to yours. I'll have to take a closer look at it tonight.

You should be proud to carry THAT humble carry, Dean!! Fantastic photo of a very comely knife!:cool::cool::thumbsup: (Sure wish I could figure out how to eliminate blade reflections.)

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a Marbles rams horn canoe:

Thanks, Gary!! Nice looking canoe.
Regarding your question about eliminating blade reflections (also bolster reflections); I find that photographing inside in indirect light helps. But then you don't get the nifty outdoor ambience in your photos. Hmmm.

That looks good. Going to have to keep my eyes peeled for one.

I found this like new Schrade Walden 204 awhile back on the big auction site for $35 delivered. I Was really quite surprised no one else went after it. I finally decided to put an edge on it and put it into the rotation.View attachment 928562 View attachment 928563

Great deal!
The Cocobolo on old knives is like nothing else, imo.

I've wondered about that yellow/orange tractor that's appeared in past pics, Jeff. Not orange enough for an old Allis Chalmers we had when I was a kid, but I wasn't sure it matched my (often faulty) memory of a Massey-Ferguson we'd sometimes borrow from my Mom's dad when things got busy. The "MF" in this pic suggests I was on the right track. ;)

Yes, GT, it's a '68 Massey Ferguson 20. Wonderful old machine. We keep the Brush Bull on it and it's what I use to mow.
3Cyl diesel, made in England.

Sometimes I feel nostalgic about the good ole days.:D This was a knife that was gifted to me by Charlie way back at the 2011 OKCA show, first time I ever attended. I asked him what he wanted for it? He said "just give me the change in your pocket." I think it was .35 cents! What a guy!!! It's an old Shapleigh D/E, probably made by Schrade. Sharp doesn't begin to tell it, and look at that handle and shield, nice and worn down. I carry this oldie a bunch!

The knife and the story are treasures and the reason a lot of us are here. Thanks, Perry.
