What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Overcast and raining ducks and frogs here, so I grabbed up two to tote for which I already had a picture and could take the humidity. Queen model 48 balloon whittler (1946-1949) and Queen model 31 congress (1961-1971).

That old ballon whittler is very nice.

My sister wanted a variety of tomatoes for tonight, so the Sod Buster went to work ! It's a nice overcast day so I caught some rays to turn on those 156 epigenetic switches while I was at it. And lets not forget about the all important cholesterol sulfate. Listen to Dr. Stephanie Seneff's talk if it strikes your fancy :D

It is a leaf cutter ant. I took the picture of the ant a long time ago and mounted it to glass. The Aitor Castor is sitting on the picture and is a little under 3.5 inches closed
AHA! The magician reveals his secrets! :p:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Thanks, Guys! Yes, GT, that bone is "like buttah!" :)

Double stag Friday just to warm up for Stag Saturday?? :thumbsup::cool::cool::D

Bad connection so I cant download a picture. We came up north to celebrate the midsummers eve at the childhood home of a friend. Many years ago, must be almost 30, I had given her father a Roselli hunter knife. They lived on a farm in the middle of the forest. This man is now dead, but I found this knife hanging on the wall. It had a new sheath, better than the original. The knife looked very used.

I met this man on several occasions. A very jovial guy, allways friendly. His wife still lives in the house. A hardworking couple who raised 3 children. He lost when young one eye and several fingers when came across a wartime mine. Still he was very handy with both chainsaw and rifle. First gave the family money, the second meat, moose and birds.

Somehow seeing the knife moved me. This kind of men are rare these days. I'm happy I knew him.
Moving tribute, @HFinn ! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I can see why you're enthralled with that knife, Josh! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I understand the feeling. I wish I could find a chestnut bone, square-bolstered, medium stockman with a punch in place of the pen. I like that Girl Scout knife. My niece entered the Brownies recently, so I’m now on the lookout for one.

I’ve got this Camillus EO jack with me today.

That spear/pen EO with golden brown jigged bone is awesome!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks for the GS knife comment; I found mine at a tiny flea market a couple of years ago, and finally got a serviceable edge on it this week. I may yet learn to sharpen a knife properly! :rolleyes:

Thanks, GT! Really nice handles on the sow belly!!!

Thanks, Jeff. :)

Thanks again, Gary. Just one more day to go, I think I can make it.....I guess I am going to have to if I want to enjoy the weekend. :D

LOL! Thanks Gary, very good! :) :D It's always a treat to see your Girl Scout, and those are a nice pair of Rough Riders (I have the Sowbelly) :thumbsup:

Thanks for the positive feedback, Jack; I think a photo of your RR sowbelly precipitated my purchase of the same. ;):thumbsup:
Doubled lambsfoot knives again today! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Not saying it's a problem/addiction (yet ;)), but do you have access to a chapter of Lambsfoot Anonymous, if necessary??

Since my mini moose from yesterday was so well received, I thought I’d ride that wave with another mini moose. But today, it’s sharing pocket duty with an SAK.

I don't think I've been aware of the existence of a mini moose! :eek: How big (or mini) is it? Is it like a mini trapper with a blade on each end? :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today I’m Totin a 77 Yankee Jack and a Case Sowbelly single blade. :)

Dynamite duo, Ron! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I still think of myself as a multiple-blade proponent, but that single blade sowbelly definitely has major appeal!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That pair is a piano concerto, not just a kid playing "Chopsticks"!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Congrats, Perry! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

You should check out the thread about Cattle knives. Pretty sure everybody made one during their heydays.

I only have one oldie, it’s tang stamped
“HIGH CARBON”, and was made by Camillus for Sears.

If I had your money to spend, :D, I’d also be looking for a cattle/stock or harness jack from GEC.

Couple of Cases today - Moose, and Radio Electrician Jack. And yes - it’s still raining!

Thanks for the compliment. That EO is a recent addition, but quickly becoming a favorite. That S&M looks classic is every way.

Yes, exactly! The mini moose pattern is what you’d get if a medium stockman serpentine cross pollenated with a mini trapper. Same two blade combinations, but one on each end on the mini moose.

Primary blade on the mini trapper is about 1/8” longer, and the mini moose closed, is about 1/8” longer (3.625” closed). Mini trapper disguised as a stockman, without the blade crowding.
