What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Exquisite Forum knife, Ted! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

That old Case stockman with the killer stag is outstanding, Dean! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Shame to lose a fine old tree that you've known its entire life, Ron, but I'm glad you didn't suffer more serious damage on what must have been a scary trip!

Phenomenal old tip-bolstered, pick bone Schrade sleeveboard pen knife!!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Impressive antler assets, Harry!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

FBC, your two German stag whittlers are simply outstanding!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow, a one-knife day is unusual for you, isn't it, Jack? :confused: But the gleaming surface of that lone knife allows the viewers of your photo to enjoy opposite horizons simultaneously, and that's certainly a treat!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

I had to zoom in on your photo in order for my old eyes to figure out what project you were working on, David. :rolleyes::cool::thumbsup: What did those ax heads look like BEFORE you started?

I admire your enjoyment of that lambsfoot, Joshua! ;):cool::thumbsup:

What's your top church knife with the charismatic bone, Jeff? :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Another Sunday-best church knife; very tasteful, Dean!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for sharing that pair of pearl oldies but goodies, Stuart! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Yeah, that pair is definitely money! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sounds like you're well-fed, Ron, and you're certainly prestigiously bladed! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, but that's an "apples and oranges" comparison between two quite different kinds of knives. :):thumbsup:

:D Thanks; it's one of my favorites for sure. @r8shell did the scrimshaw on that. The design is scratched into the bone with a sharp scribe of some kind, and then ink is worked into the scratches. So it IS basically carved into the bone. ;)

Congrats on the MAJOR flea market score, Harry! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Both knives look like they'll turn out to be beautiful! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Buck 373 Trio?? That's a sweet small stockman, John! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Jack. :) Those knives are the ONLY indication that I have a "green thumb". :rolleyes:

:p My Hav-a-Tampa Jewels were as close as I got to cigars for 40+ years!
Whatever the actual age, that knife was top-shelf to this amateur! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sublime summer shot, Jack!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

XX marks the spot!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Ron and George, those are superb examples of an appealing Barlow and a swell Whittler! ;):cool::thumbsup:

Couple of masterful Monday work knives, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Scrumptious bone and shiny steel, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Beautiful bone with joy-inducing jigging on that brace of Cases, Stuart! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

My Alox Knife of the Week is a Vic Cadet 2 (thanks, Ken). Wish they'd go back to a pen blade in place of the file on the Cadet. :rolleyes:

non-Alox SAK of the Week is a Vic Explorer, with magnifier:

Stockman of the Week is a Case 6347 that Lance almost MADE me buy as part of a "package deal" for another knife I wanted; I had almost no interest in the stockman at the time, but obviously Lance knows me better than I do; splendid stockman!! :p

Thanks GT! Is that a grizzly bear next to your SAK? What is it made of? Looks really interesting.

New Boys knife arrived and used it (once sharpened) to cut grip tape and assist on a few tasks while doing some detail work on our Chevy box truck the flipped onto it's side during a late season (April) snow storm. I'm way to fat for some of the tight spots I got into. Had to take the chain off temporarily as it got caught on EVERYTHING:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Think I'll sew a button on my waistband like when there were button suspenders. Didn't work well using the main button on my jeans:)

Has the iconic GEC 73 fallen out of favour? I don't see a lot of pictures of them lately...time to use this single blade stainless:thumbsup:

I don't think it's fallen out of favor Will so much as it's not the current flavor of the month. If GEC only made the 73 they'd still be successful.

When choosing a GEC knife to carry am always concerned what to do if I loose it as they can be hard to replace. Now that I have a couple "backups" the ebony tascosa is winning pocket time. The patina constantly changes, blue / purple is from slicing garlic cloves for cooking, yellow comes from onions. Like to make a game out of slicing garlic cloves, how thin and how many slices can I get off one clove? By the next day the patina is back, even where I stopped the edge clean a couple days before.
