What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice combo! Can we get some pics of the Case by itself? Is it what they call a doctors knife?
Finally got around to the pics I promised...

This one to help ease the Monday blues...

Monday? More like Lifetime ;)

I've been on this Forum a while, but I don't believe anybody has posted a picture of a more remarkable and overpoweringly interesting knife for years! :cool: It's certainly in a Pantheon of Knife Gods...

Thanks for letting us glimpse, Will

When choosing a GEC knife to carry am always concerned what to do if I loose it as they can be hard to replace. Now that I have a couple "backups" the ebony tascosa is winning pocket time. The patina constantly changes, blue / purple is from slicing garlic cloves for cooking, yellow comes from onions. Like to make a game out of slicing garlic cloves, how thin and how many slices can I get off one clove? By the next day the patina is back, even where I stopped the edge clean a couple days before.

I know exactly what you mean John, and having some 'spares' gives one welcome leeway in being able to use and enjoy as many patterns as possible. The 83 is a very fine midsize lockback and my Stag one has notched up a lot of patina from garlic slicing and limes for Bourbon and Gin & Tonic :cool: got to wash that garlic off first of course :D

Regards, Will

I really like that Case stockman - what a spey blade.

Fine example of a recent 47 right there!
...
5K Qs 5K Qs Thanks for the compliments! That 6347 is a fine Stockman my friend! :cool:
...
Thanks for the kind words my friend :) I've been stuck at my PC writing since 9.00am, and it's 1.15am now! :eek: Figured one knife would suffice ;) :thumbsup:
The only green thumbs I get are from verdigris! :D
Nice Stockman :) :thumbsup:
...
Glad you have some Hav-a-Tampa memories, Stuart. :cool:
Jack, I hope you're getting paid some overtime for your 16-hour day! :eek:
Thanks for all the Case stockman support, Stuart & Josh & Ron & Jack. :)

Peerless knife for a gentleman such as you, Gev!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today I pulled this out and thought, I'm carrying this before I'm dead!
Northwoods Broadway Jack in black dyed bovine/cow bone. These were very well built, with serious snap!
I admire that attitude, Perry, and I can see why you'd apply it to THAT knife!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

This one to help ease the Monday blues...

Y:eek:WZA!! Incredible knife, kai76 kai76 !! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Belated Fathers Day gift!
Congrats, Ken! :thumbsup::cool::cool: I'm sure that tortoise shell stockman makes you (and me) happy, but the critter behind it does NOT seem pleased! ;)

Rare TC with beautiful well matched covers. My only two blade TC left, gave the other two blades away. With two "attaboy" coins still sealed in plastic from 1996 Space and Missile Competition Guardian Challenge.

High-class knife, @Chief ! :cool::thumbsup::cool: I keep hearing that good stag is getting hard to find; is that also the case with 3rd cut stag? Very attractive covers!

It occurred to me after I'd started that I should of done before and after shots. This is an old shot taken a year or two ago when I first found them in my dad's garage.

Great old Alox SAK GT :thumbsup:

-David.
Thanks for the Alox admiration, David, and for that "before" shot of your ax heads. :thumbsup::):cool: I'm no ax aficionado, but I've seen them shaped like the one on the right, and the one behind in your photo, but the shapes of the Chip Chop and Severquick were new to me. That Joker is a champion knife! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Great looking Case Stockman, Gary. Love the Petoskey stone carved bear - beautiful!
Thanks GT! Is that a grizzly bear next to your SAK? What is it made of? Looks really interesting.
Thanks, Ken and Joshua. :) Ken is right on the money in IDing the material used for the bear. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

So my neighbor/friend rolls his eyes every time I show him a new knife. He doesn’t get the passion and logic to spend money on yet another knife. He usually pinches pennies until they scream for mercy on such “tomfoolery.”

Last week, I first explained the special qualities of my TC Ancient, and then placed it in his hand. He immediately “got it,” and said “I want one.” I warned him of what acquiring one might cost on the secondary. He didn’t care. He wanted one. Even expressed a rational for its’ utility. A utility that a box cutter would suffice. It doesn’t matter how old you are. A little child’s fascination and desire for such things reside in us all.

So here you go, my friend. Here’s Your Ancient.

Kudos to you, @cigarrodog ! Great story! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

That top jack is a Voos, GT. It gets invited to church often partly because it’s capable at opening snacks, or in the monthly pot lucks, without being too threatening to the church ladies, but also because I tend to stick my hand in my pocket and hang on to it. That keeps me from checking my watch or looking at Blade Forums on my phone.:D
....
:D Thanks for the info, Jeff. :thumbsup::)

I can see why you post pics of that one almost every day, Paul!!! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, Gary; and it is always good to see your 3 amigos.:)

Thanks, Gary! Three primo knives you have there: Alox, SAK and Case. :thumbsup:

Today's carry at the Doctor's office about 2 hours ago.

Thanks for all your encouragement, Dean. :) Your pic of the chestnut jigged teardrop is the first I remember in a doctor's office!! :thumbsup::cool::cool:;)

This yellow Moore Maker “sodbuster” today...

Beauty, Wayne! :cool::thumbsup::cool: With the yellow handle and single blade, you could call that knife Amarillo Slim! :rolleyes:

Carrying my Case Sowbelly in Pocket-Worn Antique Jigged Bone this week. This one is from 2003.

W:eek:W, Ratbert, that's a standout specimen!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Did it come with such a polished swedge on the spey blade? :cool::cool:

New Boys knife arrived and used it (once sharpened) to cut grip tape and assist on a few tasks while doing some detail work on our Chevy box truck the flipped onto it's side during a late season (April) snow storm. I'm way to fat for some of the tight spots I got into. Had to take the chain off temporarily as it got caught on EVERYTHING:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hope no one was seriously hurt in your truck flip, Paul! :eek::( Congrats on the Boys knife! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: When I was a boy back on the farm, we'd have never been allowed to use that chain set-up, since as you say, it could get caught on lots of stuff, including PTO shafts! :eek::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Spaten, Steve, and Stuart, that's some magnificent Case red bone you've posted!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Classic pair! :cool::thumbsup:

Nicely-matched red RR pair! :thumbsup::cool:

Intriguing pair! :cool::cool: (I have some very nice knives, but that Richards "moves" me. I think I'm genetically predisposed toward the Imperials, Colonials, Richards, and Rough Riders of the world. :rolleyes:)

Superb pair! :thumbsup::thumbsup: (Is the Ulster new-to-you, Ron, or is my memory worse than I thought?)

Well-said, Travman, and also a pair with praiseworthy patina! :cool::thumbsup:

Splendid red/black pair! :thumbsup::cool:

My schedule this week has too many big knives. Besides the Case 6347 I posted yesterday (not a small stockman), my canoe this week is a gigantic Rough Rider Christmas canoe, my international knife is a Spanish "Laguiole hunter", my official "big knife" is a Mercator Black Cat, and my stag knife is a 5" Marbles lady leg knife! :confused::rolleyes:
