What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A small fixed blade, one that will go in a topcoat pocket is a real gem. Entirely versatile, you can accomplish all kind of tasks on a day hike, easily and safely (it won't close on you, yeah I know, you must use a slip joint 'properly' but fatigue or poor light can ambush you...) Those Fiddleback Forges are very enticing but getting hold of one is like joining a cult or Masonic Lodge :D:D

I like this Hess Knifeworks Small Caper, they make a very tidy knife at reasonable cost. Another small favourite is Bark River's Pro Scalpel but it's likely out of production.

Very nice Hess Will:thumbsup: and so true about the attributes a fixed blade possesses. I've carried a fixed blade in the past but until I found the best carry option for me it was always sporadic. Whether that will continue remains to be seen but I'm really enjoying it in the here and now:)

Solo #44 Today :)

Tonight I noticed a couple of small red spots near the tip of the clip blade (normally rust).

Simple fix! A little Simichrome polish on a Q-Tip.

Now picture that look on your face  when you KNOW you cut yourself , but still hope beyond hope that you didn't :(!

Great, now there's blood everywhere & suddenly that feeling of *stupid* overwhelms you!
