What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Fortunately it wasn't buffed to death on a wheel. Just looks like they held the blade pinched in some sand paper, and rubbed it. Left quite a few scuff marks, but didn't get onto the tangs, and the grinds around the swedges are still good. I hated the scuff marks, so I put an worn piece of 800 grit on a flat smooth surface and SLOWLY worked most of them out. Finished with a pretty worn piece of 1500 grit. I figured someone already destroyed the original patina, I just wanted to get most of the scuffs off. You can still read the blade etch when the light hits it right.

There’s lots of good info in the knifemaker’s and maintenance sub-forums, but that’s the way to do it.

Hot and muggy day, especially with the oven on. Time for stainless.

A Big Wow and Whoop Tee Doo! Don’t dance too wildly and have a knife go flying!

Sorry if I posted twice! No more bourbon!

You’re good.
Unless you over cook the shrimp. That’s a deal breaker.

Varied and versatile trio there, amigo!:cool::thumbsup:

Tom & Stuart, thanks for the Joker joy, buds. ;)

These 3 today . Old Imperial and 2 GEC 14's . I bought the 14's new in 2016 and had intended to gift them but my mind was changed by SWMBO . I do not like small knives , but these 2 little knives are little jewels .

...
Harry
Those 14s are indeed jewels, chum, but the Imperial is the pick of the litter IMHO! ;):thumbsup:

Thanks pal, three smashers there, and that Gunstock is real nice :)

Dude, that shield is awesomely ambiguous!:cool::thumbsup: It sort of reminds me of at least 3 classic shield shapes, but differs from each.

More time with my canoe.

That's dazzling, pardner,:thumbsup::thumbsup: but leaves me with a dilemma. I'd have said the frame is equal-ended, but I don't recall ever seeing 2 different bolster styles on an otherwise quite symmetric knife. Very intriguing; still something new for me on The Porch almost every day! ;):cool:

I know what you mean, GT. You can look away and 10 pages will pass you by.

I have these two with me today for Black Friday.

I have high admiration for that one, homegirl, because one of my own favorites is almost identical except for a spear main:

...That's a fine looking Case. 5K Qs 5K Qs Q, now I see what you were asking about after I posted the Camillus Wharncliffe. I still don't know if there is any connection, but I understand better.

Sorry about that, man. :( You'd think after 45 years in the teaching profession, I'd be able to communicate more clearly!

A 2015 #73 in Stag today, paired with my Bushboot:thumbsup:

I’m sure I’ve missed a bunch of nice knives posted today. I’ve been after it since 7am and we finally got a much needed shower and a quick evening meal. I’ve been carrying the 74 Orange Delrin Mustang and the Buck Jigged Bone Canoe both with stainless blades. I’ll have to say this about the Buck Canoe, I believe it to be the sharpest knife out of the box I have ever bought! Both blades are scary sharp! I am impressed! :D
