What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

By the time that I got outside to take a pic of today's totin' choice, daylight had become a fractious foe for photos. Apologies for both shadows and reflections on the VANCO Indianapolis pen (1888-1940).

Great knife! Looks quite pristine from here.
Fine choice of fiddle tunes... is that sheet music?

I said “SHEET”!:D
Even though I took classical guitar lessons 40+ years ago (), actually playing baroque is too much for me.
But having that under my belt has really served me well in reading notation, learning the notes all up and down the neck etc.
Kudos if you can play that stuff, but even if not, kudos on your Sunday listening choice!

Carrying this one today just because it feels so light and nice to carry .

Was talking with some relatives earlier about us playing the Dragon's Tooth Golf Course in Scotland in 2010 when we were there for our 50th Wedding Anniversary . Tough little course but liked it . We rented a house and some cottages straight across the Loch while there ( Ardrhu House ). The photos are actually from the course's website. Memories my friends .

Cool study in black and white, except for that blazing red fob on the BSK, mate! ;)

Thanks GT, nice pics!

I saw you post a few pages back Tom, nice to have you back along with your great carries:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Paul, it is good to be home. Love the Bush Boot, very nice, would love to hear your impressions of it.

My rainy Sunday carries:

Thank you sir. Took a while to amass, glad I started back in the day. Couple of the Bose have seen use, the fixed ivory swayback has spent lots of time on the computer desk and the small stag swayback. The blue mammoth Pena lockback was a special order, and it deserves the light of day. Hard to use though as the days of peened Penas seem to be over. Admit to being a collector, doesn't hurt they have outperformed my IRAs, but I rarely sell so it doesn't matter.

Thanks...I’m not sure I could slice an apple with a $3K knife, as my hand would be shaking too much!
I have noticed that the Pena knives I see now seem to be tactical flippers or big Lanny’s Clips with screws. I guess he has moved away from those beautiful Jigged Bone Stockman and Sowbelly knives he used to make.

My yellow Delrin tribal lock is pretty much my constant companion at home these days, carried in a Case horizontal belt sheath. However, the big drop point blade isn't always ideal for smaller tasks requiring more precision, so I've taken to carrying a peanut, small stockman, or etc. to complement it. For the last couple of days I've been supplementing it with my jigged chestnut bone swayback jack. I had the patina on the jack pretty uniform until I decided to use it to spear and eat some peach slices this morning... :p

If you get here around 6:30 we'll go get a couple of big beef steaks and some brews, Jack!
Actually, anytime my friend!
The money clip I picked up at a Santa Fe street market a few years ago. It was made by a friend of my daughter's.
The LCJ was calling my name today.

Wouldn't that be great my friend? :)

Lots o’ awesomeness posted this weekend! Spent the last few days down south repairing deer blinds at the lease in 100F+ degree weather. Took this last night, blind horse helped with the cooking and the Warren helped all day in the hot sun as stainless was a must (I was hungry, the steak was inhaled) .....

I still like your warren.

Last day of the Pena parade with another flawless example in mammoth. Got 1/3" of rain last night, need more.

Family portrait, screws have no place on any of my traditionals. Blue single blade lockback deserves some more love before it heads back to the safe. Carpe diem!

John that’s a stunning display of customs my friend! Any one would be the highlight of a collection, but all together WOW! “...........screws have no place on any of my traditionals.” Amen on that!! :D

Stuart, I didn’t know your taste in music mirrored your taste in cutlery! Classical! :D

Those Buck 389 Canoes are really something. I bought 4 with the wood covers, gifted 3 of them.
I've been procrastinating about getting the jigged bone 389.
I'll probably get one in October ... There are a couple others I need to get first. The Forum knife will be my August knife, and an SK Blades Smoke Jumper for September, unless they are sold out by then.

Today's carry is all Buck.
A 110 on the belt, with a 301 and 389 in the pocket.
I was pleasantly surprised. :)
