What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

r8shell r8shell , your pick of a Queen for the day prompted my totin' choice. Thanks for the push. A Queen Texas toothpick (also dubbed a Folding Outdoor Knife in their catalogs) from 1949-1958. Their Queen Steel, developed in 1949, really is pretty resilient. This period saw the declining use of true Winterbottom bone due to increasing costs. They switched to Delrin in the late 1960's; Winterbottom sold out to a competitor in 1968.

The case is a cigarette/cigarillo case that I found in some old musty bin.

I need to replace in interior bands that hold the cigarettes/cigarillos in place. Always another chore . . .

I like that Winterbottom bone. It has the look of grooved stag that the Delrin just doesn't.

I'm carrying this Case teardrop for Fake stag Friday.

Fantastic Teardrop. :cool::thumbsup:
The ebony #14 has quickly become a favorite carry at work...
Lots of great knives posted today, but I love that coffee mug!

I like that! I think I'll join you in Fake Stag Friday.
A little switch-up after work. The weather has cooled some so I'm outside pulling some weeds... I even found the first acorn of the year on the ground. I always pick up the first one I find and put it on my desk. Fall is coming!!!

I really like that knife every time you post it. Wish they made it in CV!

Thankyou @waynorth for this beautiful knife. Patina matches dad's pocket watch and switch key. Will post more pics in barlow thread but love this bone, beautifully hafted and subtle texture.

Congratulations John, wonderful composition

Daughter and I slept in, finished the Eiger Sanction and didn’t get on the water until 11:45. 1 hour, 35 minutes later we had our limit of 10 Rainbows for the smoker....time for a burger and a nap!!!

Sounds like a great day! :) Nice Safari

Carried this with me as we made our periodic trek for Cheese Curds and Cheese . Ol Red

That's a resplendent and redolent red, Harry. Query: isn't cheese curds and cheese cottage cheese? Pardon my ignorance, I'm just an old Southern boy and we had hoop cheese, pimento cheese, and Velveta, so I'm still learning (said as I munch manchego as a homework task).

I am certainly not an expert on cheese and I do not know how they get Cottage Cheese . I believe that as you make cheese you first get Curd . You can then press the Curd into Blocks of Cheese . Here in Wisconsin there is a large market for the Curds as well as the Blocks . If Curd is fairly fresh and is close to room temperature , it will squeak as you chew it . We go to a cheese factory where they make Muenster Cheese , which is our favorite Curd .

Very cloudy , dreary , and drizzly day today and will have to use old photo(s) , Carried this with me as we made our periodic trek for Cheese Curds and Cheese . Ol Red

Well, I would consider eating a curd if I got to carry that fine red sawcut bone Barlow!

Yeah the weather was like a harbinger of coming fall. Had to replace a fuel line on a piece of equipment in the rain. Of course, it quit as I finished. Got on the tractor to mow the rest of the day, and just left my poncho on, because it was chilly. Chilly in August?
