Stuart, looks like my room kindaWell, I was correct and @Half/Stop was lurking in the vicinity of my home. I lured him into a local restaurant with a promise of lunch and we had a great, long visit over some fine victuals. Afterwards, we repaired to my house for a brief tour of my cluttered fishing/hunting/knife stuff storage area. (My wife was appalled that I would let someone see the mess.)

Ron seemed unfazed by the disarray and patiently listened as I pulled out the "pearl pile" and the "old guys" boxes. At lunch, he had graciously gifted me with my first GEC knife, a bird hunting beauty that I later took outside for a quick photo.

His wealth of information about some of the knives that we looked at made the time we spent talking seem way too short. I should have taken notes. Today, I was reminded just how much a little time on The Porch can boost a person's spirits and educate them, all at once.
