What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well, I was correct and @Half/Stop was lurking in the vicinity of my home. I lured him into a local restaurant with a promise of lunch and we had a great, long visit over some fine victuals. Afterwards, we repaired to my house for a brief tour of my cluttered fishing/hunting/knife stuff storage area. (My wife was appalled that I would let someone see the mess.)

Ron seemed unfazed by the disarray and patiently listened as I pulled out the "pearl pile" and the "old guys" boxes. At lunch, he had graciously gifted me with my first GEC knife, a bird hunting beauty that I later took outside for a quick photo.

His wealth of information about some of the knives that we looked at made the time we spent talking seem way too short. I should have taken notes. Today, I was reminded just how much a little time on The Porch can boost a person's spirits and educate them, all at once.

Stuart, looks like my room kinda:D I agree, Time with Ron passes way to quick and you wish you had more time, he's that kinda guy, you know the type, kind, smart, funny, super generous and a wealth of info. We met at the rendezvous two yrs ago and had an instant connection, wish I had more time to spend with he and Pam, they are GREAT people:thumbsup:

It's a neat thing when you hear of porch members getting to meet face to face, glad you two had a good visit:thumbsup::cool:

Well, ya know, Paul and Gev, that before @Half/Stop got his mitts on the "mess" it was more orderly, kinda like your grandmother's sewing table. But I turn my back for just a minute and look what happened. Like a badger digging a burrow!
