What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Anxiously awaiting for Mike's new 85 SFO to get out into the wild but, I will be carrying this one until that day comes:

Nice Scott, great way to hold you over until the SFO arrives:thumbsup: I have the same knife and it's a favorite of mine:)

These two for me today.

Sisters under the skin, Tom. Both Queen-made and both lovely.

I'm carrying this one for today since I just finished making a left handed sheath for it.

Congrats on the fine sheath and for working so you can carry that handsome old fella even more.

D Duckdog Thanks Stuart.i don't think they'll make the cut for the next Mucky Duck visit.

Yep, those aren't beach bar blades. Because I like you, Alan, I'll be glad to take custody on them when you make your regular southern sojourn.

Thanks Stuart! Yes I love the yellow stockman. I finally switched knives today. This Queen City canoe was one of my first few traditional knives I’ve ever owned. Haven’t carried it in years and it finally called my name this morning.

A captivating canoe, Nick, a real boatload of beauty. I think that the covers are the early Winterbottom bone used before the change to Queen Cutlery in 1946 and the "new" Winterbottom bone, which was dubbed "Genuine Frontier bone stag" (the dark and white Winterbottom that most of use see). That's really nice.

Thanks GT! I love seeing your custom scrimshawed RR.

Pre 78 and earlier Case knives are simply some of the best knives period in my mind, you have an absolutely stunning small trapper right there:cool: I love the pen versus the spey. I have a couple and you inspired me to look through my vintage Case knives today. I grabbed a XX (1940-64) 6232 that my brother Markesharp gifted me. Pic's later today:thumbsup:

Thanks for the kind words Paul, I’m glad to be inspirational (this is a first for me!:)) That Case is my only 2 blade trapper because it has the pen blade. I don’t find myself using a spey all that much, but the pen often useful as a splinter remover, or a hangnail trimmer. I look forward to seeing your 6232.

I have to agree with your statement about pre-1978 Case Knives. Here's my 1940 - 1964 6347 CV Case Stockman that I plan on dropping in my pocket today when we go to town for lunch.

Top notch Case :cool::thumbsup:

A wonderful classic Case. Your post and a few others of the classic Case have changed my carry choice for today.

The slew of older Cases and comments thereon convinced me to go red, instead of black, for this Friday's totin' choices. A Case 6207 and a 62042, both from 1965-1969.

Thank you for saying so. That is some regal red bone. I’m glad you decided to share them.

As for me, my Black Friday carry even came in a black box. Have a great weekend everyone!

That is a beautiful soddie.

I really like the old Camillus and the Soddie, Jeff, for their honest, simple form and for those smooth covers. I agree that the Case should linger as currently clad. Use the political slogan for a conversation starter ("at least some of his/her campaign funds went to a good use.

Thanks for the kind comments, guys!
Stuart, the first thing I did was remove the campaign slogan:D
Love that redbone Case Jack!!!
Nick, gonna miss the yeller Schrade, but I do like your rowboat!

Remember- coon fat gravy makes everything better!

Thank you and thank you for the info Stuart. I thought it was from the 50’s but glad to know it’s earlier. It’s the cozy glen version, classy swedges on real thin blades especially on the secondary. Gets very sharp, very easily and has great f/f all around. I like it when I fall in love again with an old knife that I’ve neglected for so long. Beautiful pair of Case’s on you today. I’ve said it many times before but will say it again and again, it’s hard to beat them old Case’s.
