Well, from the point of view of this thread my EDC has been pretty dull as this knife hasn't left my pocket
I thought about taking a more recent picture then hesitated. It hasn't stopped raining over here, the knife now has rust spots (shock!) and scuff marks where it has been kept in my pocket alongside other items, coins etc... What it has been doing is working hard despite the weather and proving itself as a superb 'work' knife.
Hello these days I'm carrying a case xx (65-69) 6318 PE with punch and Spey blades originally, but I've modified the Spey into a wharncliff for whittling. It works pretty well because of the thin grind of that kind of blade.
Some photos
Going fishing, wife and baby going with me, lots of coyotes and fishers so I added a fixed blade not pictured cuz its a more more recent Boker not very trad. Big stick trumps but better to have and not need then need and not have.
The last few days it's been my Case Swayback Jack in chestnut and CV.That will be in rotation with my Case Peanut in Damascus. The Swaback is new and freshly sharpened, gotta carry it.My Wife bought me both,so I don't have to feel guilt about packing the Swayback from time to time.
GEC Bullnose! I spent time this morning relaxing with a cup of coffee and putting my kind of edge on it. It reminded me of an Opinel, really nice thin grind but with almost no secondary bevel. Now that it wipes hair off my arm I'm well satisfied.
Which knife I carried today? Better question would be, which I havent. I sharpened all my knives and my wife´s (and even mum´s) kitchen knives today. I started on 9 o´clock in the morning and finished at 5 o´clock in the evening. It was a great day It were a lot of knives, but the result was great...
I had it done by a guy who sharpens stuff for a living, axes, saws, knives..in a place set up for that, with grinders, buffing wheels.. the finish is done by me with sandpaper and a scotch brite pad, (didn't like the mirror polish and there were some small grind marks)
It's not a perfect grind job, mostly in the choil area, comparing the one i had for this cadet bellow, done by a knifemaker, but i can live it it.
