What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

For Black Friday:

I don't have info, FBC, other that they were out of Mount Vernon, NY with contracted knives from Solingen, Germany (1950 - present?), and few pics.

A stockman:

And this poor old fish/bird knife that is my letter opener (works well):

That is more than I knew before, thank you.
Two great Edge Marks....also, what do ya mean "poor ol' bird and trout"? ;) That knife is awesome!

As long as it’s not for something illegal, imoral, or fattening, I am most gratified to be named as an inspiration!
Looks like a KABAR. WWII era?

I’ll stick with the cocobolo TL29 as I throback to all Schrade today. Well, SW and Schrade. This 33OT throws back to the mid ‘70s, when it was one of my collection of two.

Haha!
It is a Kabar but I have no idea about the year.
Great picks for your carry today too!

I REALLY like the stag on your Solingen knives, including that EDGEMARK and Hartkopf, FBC and Harry!:cool::thumbsup: (Harry, those are outstanding trip (I almost typed "vacation", but I'm learning ;)) photos, too!)
Thanks, GT. I have been diggin' that shadow pattern Case you have been totin'.

This is what I am totin' to dinner tonight.
The other day I received a pm from Kevin (@veitsi_poika) - “Did you just win the bid on a knife I had for sale?” He said - “When I saw your name and the state I thought of you”. Well it was I who had bought the knife. It is a just about perfect Schrade Walden split back whittler.
Now in Kevin’s true style of ever thoughtful kindness he looked over my past posts until he figured out a knife that would be special to me. He saw that I really am fond of Olsen knives and have been slowly acquiring a few. He had a total of ONE Olsen OK folder which he promptly packaged up with the Schrade Walden and sent to me as a gift. What can I say about this guy that most of us don’t already know? Thank you my friend for this and the many other considerations you've extended to me.

I was watching that auction as well!
What a great split back whittler.

I did not bid, even being sorely tempted, but I wonder how often we cross paths with fellow porch members without even knowing?

Yep. Same one today. Eleven days straight, and still at full momentum.

Cool Fact of the Day: While this particular Army engineer knife was made by Camillus, contracts were also held by Imperial, Cattaraugus, Ulster, Utica, Case, Pal, Queen City, Aerial Cutlery, and Kinfolks

Case CV Swayback
This could easily become one of my best knives. The build quality is top notch, with no gaps, centered blade, and very tight tolerances. In fact the only fault this knife has is that it was built so tight that it is taking some effort to break it in. The knife doesn't want to 'snap' open with authority. I can feel the grit and gunk in there, but because of the tight fit, it's taking a while to get it flushed. After two baths and several flushs, it is improving and I can tell it will eventually break-in. This is the only knife I currently own where the back spring is perfectly flush at closed, half stop, and fully open. It's really a great office carry knife.
