What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Yeah, guessing you have folders with features that cross the line here.
I share your interest in this style. They're really neat.
I have a book on them that says the pattern goes back to the year 1100, originating in Indonesia. They were agricultural tools, like pruners (I'm sure you're aware). Sounds traditional to me :)

Anyway, here's one I think I can post here. Not totin' it, but hope to give it some custom handle scales soon.

Below is what I'm totin' today
Happy Friday all

1100 A.D. sounds pretty traditional!
Nice knives.

So several weeks ago, I sat down for breakfast with our friends Jeff @black mamba, Rick @Railsplitter and Scott @pearl2291. We enjoyed some good company and fellowship, and passed a few knives around the table before attending a local knife show.

Jeff had his Bolus with him, and I kept asking him if I could inspect it again. Something about that knife just felt right to me. I had to order one, and Mike at CK sent me a fine example. Now, a few weeks more have passed, and I like the knife so much that I bought a "back up", or user, so I can have one for everyday and one for Sunday best.

So just a warning: beware “Jeff the Enabler” :).

Anyway carrying these two today ;).

Nice to meet up with other folks from the forum. I am greatly looking forward to meeting Harry, aka Old Engineer Old Engineer along with a couple of other famous Porchsters for breakfast and then raiding the Badger Knife Show. I’ll have to keep an eye on Harry as he tries to ferret out old Cattaragus gems!
My EDC knives don't change much; I've found my preferred combination: Victorinox Pioneer and either my case CV Peanut in Chestnut bone or my Schrade USA Old Timer 104OT. I love the combination of the smoothness and the ridges of the sawcut-style Delrin.

I agree- Schrade did delrin right!
This one on a warm day.

Great minds think alike.

Much chillier than yesterday, but the spring thaw continues. I think we’ve got winter on the run.
A walk among drippy trees on a muddy path is much better than a day at work.

I’m on a deployment until May, and this thread is making me really miss carrying a traditional. I love my Emerson and it’s a workhorse, but it doesn’t have the character or good looks of a nice slippy.
The traditionals will be there when you return home!! STAY SAFE wherever you are and THANK YOU (and your extended family!) for your service and sacrifice!! We appreciate it!!

I've got a cool "new one" today. Along with the ever-present Camillus, I'm carrying a 1999 Case Mini-Copperlock in saw cut bone. The rough cut nature of the covers is really, really cool, and the bone is dyed with a ton of color variation to it.

I really like the Mini Copperlocks and that is a gorgeous example! Thanks for sharing.

I've been meaning to pick up one of those. I'm on a Case kick lately, and love the thought of having their Beer Scout equivalent. Great jigging on that one!
Thanks Buzz! Case has nailed it adding the cap lifter to the mini trapper. There’s another variation with yellow delrin covers...

Damn you enablers.:mad::mad: I just ordered the Beer Trapper in yellow Delrin, and found a clip/wharncliffe bone stag mini-trapper while I was at looking. :D:D:D This place is going to be the death of my wallet. :p:p:p
