What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

What IS that stuck in your tire?

I asked the tire guys to save it for me when they replaced the tire this morning.

It WAS, uh, this:

Thin metal cylinder with green tape (label?) outside, plastic insert. Any ideas?

re-surfaced main blade and blued today...got rid of the deep pepper spots that formed out of nowhere...
been totin' this one for about a month now, and don't see any reason to stop just yet :) ...

You have officially persuaded me to like toothpicks. GREAT job, I did not think it was possible. :)

As for the prop in the photo of my 57, I shot this handheld snapshot to show what it is.

Of course I included my Scagel. That knife, it might just be my favorite of all and I haven't realized it yet. The FEEL... its unmatched.

I hope to see updates a long the way, and you are welcome, it looks amazing.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what it plays. I have only heard it once in my life and yeah it sounded fantastic. Its an old family piece that's been passed down so I basically just look at it and don't want to break it. I have bad luck with that.

Eta, next time I talk to my grandmother I will ask her if she remembers. If I can find anything out I will shoot you a visitor message :)

You know, I was looking through those threads and I may just have to pick myself up a yellow 'nut or a pen now. I never really liked the look until I held my friend's sodbuster; that creamy colored yellow has won me over.

Carrying the wharncliffe mini trapper (top knife in the attached picture) I won in Jason Baker's give away last year.

Grabbed this one over the weekend at the flea-market, probably be totin' it for a little while. It's a very nicely made Schrade Fire and Ice, built by GEC, with black pickbone scales. I've read a bit about this particular knife here at BF but never got a chance to see one in person, man it is nice! It has all the stellar f&f you'd see on a normal GEC for about 1/2 what you'd pay for a regular 73. I'll probably be huntin' another one of these down soon...

Sorry for the crappy pics, we're suffering from hurricane conditions down here in FL so I quickly snapped a few shots in between downpours. ;)

I'm usually more of a carbon steel and bone or wood type of carrier, but I spent the day tooling around a big city and felt like carrying one of my favorite SAK patterns, the Compact :)

I've been carrying stockmen and jacks for a couple weeks straight now, think I'll go back to my old love, the Queen #06L for a while.
