I wish that Opinel had more handle material choices that were available in carbon, I'd buy a ton in a heartbeat...Heck, I don't know why Opinels are so addicting, it's madness I tell you!

well if you ask my wife, i am completely nuts
i have too many knives (about 15 i think)
and in her words... "A REAL man only needs one" and her daddy only had one

:D

Hehehe, fair enough.
I just use the excuse of, "Well, do you you really need that many shoes and clothes?" when my collection is criticized.

Usually what comes back is, "Well, I actually wear them!!"

"And I use my knives, so we're even :p"

Hey it takes a man to fiddle through a box of knives too :-p

Actually, I tend to agree with your wife's logic. Wish I could live by it

DeadFall - I actually like that shot a lot! It really shows off that edge!

I cant use that one. My wife contracted West Nile back in 2006. The virus got into her spinal cord paralyzing her from the waist down. After years of therapy she is able to walk with crutches, but she has to wear special compression stockings and leg brace and special shoes to fit over her brace (runs from her knee all the way down her foot). So while she HAD lots of shoes, she hasnt bought any new ones in years.

so that particular argument won't get me anywhere :/

Thank God no one was hurt ~P!
76 outside of Philly is a terrible highway, my buddy who lives there always called the Schuykill Expressway the "Shurkill" as it is so congested and there are so many accidents.

Carried the White Owl to work today, another semester starts...

I've been carrying stockmen and jacks for a couple weeks straight now, think I'll go back to my old love, the Queen #06L for a while.

That's a heckuva an edge on that Queen Jeff, must be a real slicer!

67Nick, I've been thinking about picking up one of those Schrade/GEC Scouts for a friend, he admired my GEC but I don't think he'd pick one up for himself. I'm thinking it would make a nice Christmas present, he's a knife lover and done a lot for me with our Scout troop. Maybe..

Duane, how did you get the pepper spots off your Powderhorn? Steel wool/sandpaper or something else? I'd love to know.

Thanks!
Griff

This one that I made, went out hiking and needed something a little bigger...did have a few coyotes get a little close cause I had my dog with me but ended up not being an issue (probably should have taken a pistol).

My short run GEC #72 "A" in Ruby Red has been a treat to carry. Much better built than my #72 Tidioute in Spring Green.

I got one of these too, my first 440C GEC. I put a 1000 grit satin finish on the bolsters and the shield on mine. I'm on vacation, but I'll post pics when I get back, would like to get everyone's opinion, it doesn't show scratches nearly as easily.
