What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I could see that being a very useful knife around camp.:thumbsup:
The Cold Steel Roach Belly makes a great pack knife. It’s less than 3oz (2.6oz if I remember right) with a 4116 stainless 4.5-inch blade. The hollow polypropylene handle is what makes them so light. It’s not a full tang so it’s intended for light tasks. For less than $20 it’s hard to beat this little edc.

I have mine attached to my fly pack when I’m out fishing otherwise it lives in a compartment over the steering wheel in my FJ.

Cool set-up :) I saw a thread once, where someone took the handle apart, and the tang was quite interesting

Not the thread I was thinking of, but...

Thanks, I keep my pack set up so I can just grab it and some wading shoes and I'm out the door. I do need to add a lanyard with a carabiner clip to keep it from falling out when I sling the pack around.

That is an interesting tang and a good way to keep it from pulling out of the handle. The handle appears to be more solid than I thought it for what the knife weighs.

Be safe and have a peaceful Sunday, folks.

Good idea, inexpensive knives are ideal for something like that I think. I ordered the CS Finn Bear and Roach Belly when they first came out, and while I like the Finn Bear, I preferred the Roach Belly. Both have similar tangs

Thank you Ron. Beautiful photo of your two wonderful knives!
Thanks Dave! :)

Top-notch pair Ron :)
Thanks Jack! :)

Beautiful pairing, Ron. :cool::thumbsup:
Thanks John! :)

Since this is Sunday I will get back to doing nothing because I never finished doing nothing the other day so I have chose to carry these 2 for Half/Stop Half/Stop and @Pàdruig's benefit .

Okay Harry, thanks a lot! :p I’m also setting here doing nothing, well not exactly! I’ve got a beautiful stag #43, but I’m actually wondering how I could justify the cost of one of those fancy fixed blades. :D Stay safe my friend!

You know how the sense of smell really triggers memories? Well 3-in-One oil is absolutely the smell of my childhood. Bike chains, sharpening stones, pellet guns: the memories really flood back...

The Klein Tools rope knife got a workout doing yard work today - cutting trimmer line when it breaks and then over-feeds every two minutes:mad::mad:, cutting small branches off the wild cherry which has taken over a corner of my back yard and off the neighbors vine which had overgrown my fence...

The Antonini “search and rescue folding hand saw” is great by the way - I bought it for less than ten bucks and it cuts really well.
