Does anyone know whether the “MOP” handles on these 60’s - 70’s era Sabres are celluloid or are they some kind of plastic? (Or does anyone besides me care?)
Thank you very much, but mine isn’t really in great condition either. It’s hard to see in the photo, but there is a crack in each handle, and scratches on the blade show that Dad wasn’t very careful when sharpening. Like you, though, I’m not interested in “fixing” it.I don't know, but I care!
That's a nice example you have. I found one just like that when I was about 13 years old, and carried it in my pocket every day through high school and college. It has some cracks, but hasn't shrunk or out-gassed yet.
As you can see, I had no finesse when it came to sharpening back then, but I wouldn't dream of buffing out those scratches. I'm too sentimental.![]()
Nice looking knives my friend . Looks like you may have had some sunlight up there . We hope that you are keeping well .An older advertising Tinker today paired with a Case 62032 Jack. I like old advertising knives, then search to see if the company/ies are still in business
