Nice, I like that stag! Cool slip also. ;)
Thanks Brother!
I’ve been neglecting my Gec’s as of late since my case run LOL. So figure I should pull this one out to enjoy for Monday
For sure the slip is really nice and I like the way it slides into my front pocket and doesn’t flip around in there. Hitch&Timber makes some quality leather slips as does Beard&Owl.
It even has a pocket in the back and front for money or credit cards. I really like the character and natural wear it’s developed over the years.

Nice and thick to it’s really sturdy

Wouldn’t that be 1978 to 1981?
I don't know. I was told the carbon steel version was dropped in 1984 ... or was it 1986 ... yeah ... 1986. My 858OT was only made for 6 years, 1978 to 1984. Sorry I got them mixed up. :( , and the three pin was 1990's to the closure in 2004.

I did correct the original post. :)

Saturday!! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. CHEERS.
Fantastic patina! Looks like a great user.
Northwoods Bullet Jack

Also some solid patina.

Saturday was my ever present autumn bone friend, and one I borrowed from mom, the copperlock I got her a while(gosh, 15 or 16 years? ) back.

I have borrowed this knife several times over the years. Each time like now, when I'm intrigued by getting a lockback of similar size, or getting a mini copperlock of my own.

Its extremely well built. Its also a lockback... never really my cup of tea.. The action is ok, verry smooth but seems to "hang" just before locking... not gritty... just... resistance. Something all the Case lockbacks I've handled do, but no other brand I've had does. Just their geometry I guess... Yes it bugs me, its annoying to have to pull a little harder just before it locks. Same concept as (stupid)half stops, which is almost as annoying.

Trying to not be bugged by it because I think I want a tribal lock. Or, maybe a mini copperlock since the size fits me better than the tribal. Maybe.

But yeah. Love this knife. I'm just never sure its for me...
I love my mini Copperlock. It's smooth and really locks with some authority. I can also open and close it one handed.

It might take a pry bar to get this Barlow out of my pocket.
That's a fantastic knife!
I'm still waiting for one of my knives to click and be the one I can't stop caring. I don't have a large collection but nothing seems to stick recently. I've gone back to weekly carries for now and may switch to monthly after I make it through them to see if any of them just bring more joy than the others.

Brother I smoke. Pipe in the morning, seegar or pipe midday, and seegar to finish in the evening.... on an average day.
That was me 7 years ago plus cigarettes.
When I stopped I gave away around 6 or 7 fully stocked humidors from Cohiba pre-bans and not LOL to just about every top shelf cigar. I actually would bid on them as a hobby in auctions. My brother would send cigars from Chicago to me from the same guy that made cigars for George Burns. He would use the sweeter leaf on the second half of the cigar so it would help counter that as the cigar got smaller and stronger ,man they were good! I kept one small humidor when I quit with just a handful of favorites.
I smoked for over 30 years  Every once in a while I’ll pop open the humidor and give them a sniff and feel enjoying the smell of cedar lined humidor and rich tobacco. When the day comes and my days are numbered I will fire one up :) maybe a cigarette to but probably not the pack with four left and bic lighter that been in my drawer for over 7 years when I quit lol.
