What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Not as much “totin’” today as I am sitting inside writing, but I had this excellent combo with me today - a Sheaffer PFM II and the GEC 33. What a combo! Does everything I need in a great package - though I might switch back to one of my trusty “51”s soon!

Thanks Aias, Those Churchill's all turned out nice. I'm lucky to own this one, it looks real nice in the sun light:)....had to correct name, thanks spellcheck:oops::)

That is one of those :thumbsup::thumbsup: knives for good looks my friend .
Do you get Hummingbirds up there ??? We think they are God's greatest little inventions .

Harry

Thanks Harry and we do get Hummingbirds and I agree with you being Gods greatest little inventions. If you or Nanc have an I Phone I'll send you a mind blowing video I took of a Hummingbird, he (or she) was so focused on feeding that I literally got about 6" from it and video taped it for almost three minutes:eek::cool::cool::cool: at one stage it actually quit flapping it's wings as it rested them on the flowers petals:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks most kindly, Jack!!!

That's a timeless beauty of a stag covered Lamb!!! Have fun with those Old West books; my second undergrad major advisor was the king of the Old West, quite an awesome series of classes! :D:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks JJ, sounds fascinating :) My grandfather read a lot of Western fiction, so much so that folks said he walked bow-legged! :D

Now I've added a book to my list too!

I've not read it yet Tony, but the reviews are good, and I've had a number of excellent books from the same publishers

I like that one, havent heard of him before is he a new maker?
Hi Johnnythefox ... Gary Wines only states that he started "years" ago and his aim is to create the finest quality knives you can buy.

Gary's personal history and history of the knife I posted includes the following ... Rosewood Lambsfoot Pen/Pocket Knife. The knife was commissioned by the famous Gary Wines who served in the 21 Specialist Air Service Regiment at Duke of York’s Chelsea HQ Squadron, as an armourer. Gary is a member of both the UK SAS Association along with the Australian SAS Association. This Lambsfoot Knife is a Special Edition of the standard Rosewood Lambsfoot. It bears Mr. Wines’ Makers Mark. This knife was hand crafted & hand finished in Sheffield, England. The lambs foot blade is manufactured out of Carbon 01 Tool Steel. Brass linings. Rosewood scales. Blade measures 75mm. Stamped G.WINES SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. Closed length measures 90mm. Weighs 90 grammes.

Gary Wines seems to specialize mainly in bushcraft and military knives. You may find more information about him and his knives with a google search.

EDIT: The quality of this knife as far as fit and finish is concerned is well above the 3 knives I have from A.Wright & Son and the 1 knife I have from Taylor's Eye Witness ... but it cost more than those knives and arguably I only have a small sample. I'm pretty sure Mr. Wines influence on the production process may have had something to do with it. Whatever it was, this one is a good one :)

Man the lambs foot has been a real slow burner for me but every time I see one now gets me closer on getting one. Not that they cost too much but got some other things to take care of first.

Hope to see you in the Guardians thread before too long my friend
