I'm not going anywhere today except the dog house. When I had Cataract surgery Thursday, the discharge instructions said "no vigorous activities" for three weeks. Well, it gonna blow a snow storm later today and tomorrow so I told the wife she'd have to do all the snow shoveling. She's not exactly thrilled. That's okay - I've been in the dog house before and am quite prepared. I've put together a box of some of my Case Sod Buster and Case Sod Buster Jr. knives to play with and food's not a problem as I have put together some essential supplies.

I'll put the yellow, lower right, next to the grape jelly, Sod Buster Jr. to use should I need one in hand.

Been working in the yard much of the day (Monday is the quarterly yard waste pickup by the county - they get it right up at the curb). Got done (well, called it quits - I’ll carry whatever else needs doing to the dump in my pickup one day next week); fixed a big ole PB&J sandwich for lunch with UTZ chips on the side - don’t get much better! Quality quartet Gary :)

That's a whole lotta black wood goodness, Jack. Happy Friday. :)

Happy Friday All.
Gateway to a good weekend.
For Black Friday; Boker Barlow in Black Wood and A Wright Lamb in Ebony...

THanks John, smashing Black Friday pair there

Striking pair

Thank you very kindly, Jack!!! I remember those old window cards from the "good ole days." :)

Your Waynorth Black Jack is definitely the coolest version of the 86; it makes an awesome partner to your Hartshead beauty!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks a lot buddy, much appreciated :)

Cool pic, Jack, and so appropriate for someone from a city whose patron saint (patron Roman god, actually ) is Vulcan!:cool::thumbsup:;)

Thanks Gary, Thor also also features on the Sheffield crest :) I always preferred the Greek gods to their later Roman incarnations, but I don't mind making an exception for Vulcan ;) :D

Yeah, the "sawdust" on the saw blade was quite noticeable in your pic. ;)
Thanks for the good words, Jack. :)

Cutting green wood is kind of messy! :D

Today I grabbed my 86 with it's "sweet crude" covers and a super slicey LT Wright FB. :)

Sweet selection JJ  :)

A good mornin’ to you all:)
looks like they’re gonna make it:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

A wonderful Stagurday indeed:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Excellent pic! :)

My Saturday totes are an IXL/Schrade and a late 40s Camillus Scout. :)

I didn't know (or had forgotten) you had one of of those Schrade-IXLs JJ :) A former brother-in-law of mine was involved in making them, and I carried that model in stag from 1980, for a number of years, before gifting it to a friend here about 5 years ago :) It pairs well with that superb Scout

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I've had these two with me today

Thank you very kindly, Jack!!! That's super cool about your direct connection to that Sheffield made Schrade, an interesting partnership!:thumbsup:

Looks like you've had a stretch of the legs out in the countryside; outstanding combo for pretty much anything!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've wanted to own a Laguiole for several years now, but I always get lost in the maze of genuine vs. "genuine," steels, presence or absence of a kick, and so on. But this lovely Fontenille Pataud Laguiole popped up on the Exchange and simplified all of that. :)

It's Sandvik 12C27 stainless, which is perfect for me, with burled Walnut scales, filework, a forged bee, the traditional cross motif -- and a kick so I can close it like a careless gorilla, which is my default mode. ;)
