What would you like to see us make next?

I would love to see a smaller version of the Offset in a solid titanium handle with a framelock, and a composite D2 blade. The handle should be anodized with inlay options and the grind bing more of a flat recurve like on your custom models Ken. I think Kershaw has a fantastic chance for beating out the market for smaller tactical knives due to the great materials and perfect price points. You could also do something like Benchmade and offer gold class upgrades. I would be all over a version of the previously described knife in Desert Ironwood scales and anodized titanium liners, with either a damascus blade or a ZDP laminate.

NO. THEY SHALL DO A TABOO AND A MINI MOJITO WITH A 3.5" BLADE. THIS IS FINAL. END OF DISCUSSION. IT IS WRITTEN!

so brad....after the taboo? hows about we try for some variations on the mojito...if not in size, at least color and blade steels....a cpm-d2 edge on one of those knives would make me melt a little bit.

I would like to see you try a fixed blade tanto design. Your organic lines could give a recurved belly behind the yacote and produce a truly beautiful knife. Try a handle in G-10 and the knife would be an indestructible tactical cutting machine

I finally jumped ship on Benchmade after many years... And came over to Kershaw after buying a JDII about a year ago.... Those super fat liners and high ground blade were what ive been looking for for some time..... Im surprised that Ken Onion actually reads these forums and thats a nice change from benchmade....

as a note, the whole ...... thing is really kinda difficult to read, try just writing as sentence fragments, or separate thoughts on multiple lines.

anyways..........

WOOOOOO!!! I WANT A TABOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Ok ,so let me make sure I got it right . You want 2 big Macs a Chimp, one pair jumper cables, six riding crops, a CD of "Zanfir and his amazing pan flute", three midgets named Biff and a happy ending? Oh and a large day glow mesh thong preferably leopard print with pink trim? How am I doing so far?

Is that all you guys got??? I'll have it to ya early next week.

Really ,you guys are on a roll! Don't stop!!

Do I have to do a Bali??

What is it with the flat ground thing? Hollow ground folders traditionally sells better. I like a good flat grind as much as the next guy however the cutting edge does have a tendancy to get thicker as the blade wears.

Whats with the basic simple folder ? There a dime a dozen. Everybody does simple, simple is to easy. Give me a challenge.

Why don't some of you like recurve? If it's a sharpening issue, thats a pretty simple fix.

I love the natural handle scale direction. I've been reduced to begging myself. They can be somewhat of a pain in the ass though due to the expansion and retraction issues of natural materials and the humidity or lack there of . It causes the handles to expand or warp and can be troublesome.

If I'm trying to cut something (food for example), recurves can get annoying because the whole blade won't go all the way through.

I can see how they give a slight advantage while cutting rope or something like that. But IMO that very slight advantage is not worth the huge disadvantage when cutting other things.

The Taboo that everyone is raving about looks AWSOME to me, but again the recurve blade ruins it :(

:D:D You asked for a brainstorming session, you got it. Looking forward to what you come up with. How 'bout a recruve balisong w/ cocobolo scales??:p

The Taboo looks asctheically nice, but I'm just not into the recurves. Dunno why. My sharpmaker can sharpen them fine. Just don't like 'em.

Natural handle/scale.... REALLY looking forward to what you come up w/ here. Nothing better than a nicely tigered rifle stock and a skinner to match.... mmmmm good

Ken, I gave you a huge challenge. Vascowear. If that's not a challenge I don't know what is. The super steel before PM steels became common.

Now we have guys grinding S90V and 10V which is worse to grind and sharpen. With Vascowear you get better strength and edge wear than D2. In some ways it's similar to 3V with less shock resistance but a bit better wear resistance. Similar in grinding.

Of course if you need to stamp these blades out that rules out the tougher steels like the ones above.

Of course not everybody needs super tough folders either. BTW, I like recurved blades. It typically causes deeper slices. Joe

flippers - no thumbstuds.

Something like this.. Or current (cheaper) models - with better blade steel + handle material...

Do I have to do a Bali??

You don't have to; you good always pawn it off on Tim or the newer designers. Or you could try _habit_'s Speedsafe bali idea either on your lonesome or as a collaborative effort with Terry Guinn. When _habit_ said Speedsafe, my first two thoughts were the butterfly actually flying out of the hand and then Terry Guinn's ring-handled bali knives.

Why don't some of you like recurve? If it's a sharpening issue, thats a pretty simple fix.

What's the fix, please? What technique lets us introduce your recurves to our benchstones?

I *like* the recurves. I didn't know if I would, initially, but now they've become one of my favorite blade designs.

And another vote for a vote here for a production Taboo (but please, if you can't affordably do the inlays, don't slap 'em on top like the Tyrade...that just doesn't work for me).

First of all, I love your knife designs.

What I would like to see come from Kershaw and Ken Onion is a Karambit. I really like the Emerson Karambit design, but $200 is a little too much to pay for it. Bring it down to around $100 and I would be glad to buy one. I especially like the barb that allows the user to open the blade while drawing it from the pocket. Perhaps a Speed Safe option can cover that opening issue. I have owned a Mantis Karambit and had to use my other hand to open it. If I am using my other hand to block an attacker, I don't want to have to use two hands to open a knife.

That is what I want to see from y'all.
