Going to use Peter's for the first time. Need another couple rough ground for my first batch to them! I'm psyched as my first 8" chef took forever 6-8 months ago when I did it. Now I did a sandoku and a 8' chef at around 2 hours each! That's pretty fast for me.

Look at my loot!

I also finally put an intake for my Harbor Freight dust collector in the bench below my grinder. Most of the stuff goes into the bucket but it noticeably reducedthe airborne particulate. I also still use a respirator. Much less crap in the air though.

All ready to shape front of scales and glue this all up :)
With carbon fiber pins.

I seriously think, that I need belt sharpener, and buffer. ( for future micarta scales )

37 knives....
Grinding time: 6h
Preparing scales to this stage: 3h
Drillling and finishing edges after waterjet cutting: 3h
Total time: 12h of work + about 10h to finish all scales on them .
Waiting time for knives to get back form HT: 2 WEEKS! ( next reason to finally build 2 good kilns)
All ELMAX 2,5mm primary hardness - CRYOed. ( dry ice + isopropanol)

Very nice. You put about as much total time into 37 knives as I put into 1. I definitely am not very efficient.

(cross posting from custom knives).

This thread really gives me inspiration.

4th one done. These last 2, I've really tried to buckle down, and take my time, and do quality. The harder I try, the more I respect everyone here. Wow, you guys do great work.

Looking for any feedback. Good or bad. What would you change? What do you like?

Here's my latest.
3/32" 440C 59-60 RHC

Great job, especially for your 4th knife. Your work is very good. If I had any concern it would be fore those two pins in the back. Close to the edge. I made that mistake on my last knife and got a slight crack in the wood. Well done sir. I can't wait to see your style evolve. :)
