Peter, with he ring in the middle of the handle, I am sensing a Khukuri type blade, yes? Looking good.

Working on the perfect hunting knife. These are 2 modified George Herron patterns. Steel is 1/8 52100, seems to be at HRC 60.

Nick, you make the coolest jigs and fixtures.

I know, right?!?

;) :p

I actually made some changes to it, but didn't have them on it in the pic for some reason. It's a helluva lot easier to dome a pin with both hands free... at least for a klutz like me. :foot:

Peter- that is looking AWESOME! :)

Here's the knife that was in fixture getting its pin domed. (is it just me, or does that sound really weird ;) LOL).

Now I want to get some phonebooks and see what I can do. Yet another way that Nick inspires :)

Hey Nick, maybe a dumb question, but is there a holster of some sort that supposed to hold the knife sheath, or is there another way you're supposed to carry it?

Here's tonight's project:

Dead-nuts square UHM covered tool rest for super slick flat grinding. Got tired of squaring up the adjustable tool rest, and drag from the steel plate, when flat-grinding.

I'm pretty in love with this thing after testing.

Javand cool tool rest. I use ultra high molecular weight every day at work. Very neat material. I have some custom parts on my bike using the stuff too. It's properties are great for certain tasks, no doubt.

Nick, love the spine on that. The hand rubbed finish is lovely too.

Where are you guys getting all of these Rockwell testers? Can't be that many on CL can there? *goes to check CL*... :)

Here is one I'm almost finished with. I made the damascus although I'm not sure what pattern it is or what to call it. Just playing around and came up with it.

Not dumb at all... You can slide the knife and sheath down on the inside of your belt and it will catch on the keeper strap/stud and ride that way.

I tried putting the keeper strap around a suspender and that seemed like it would work, but I haven't actually carried one that way.

Javan- that looks really good, nice work! I have one with UHMW glued down that worked great when it was new, but I put so many drag marks and gouges in it, it's not slick anymore. Being able to remove it like yours, to dust the top off with a really sharp fly-cutter would be a really nice option.

Sweet knife Mason!

Corey- Sweet wheels! BTW- I've got it wrapped up, just hoping to add the other blade in there too.

Cool thanks Nick. Much appreciated.

Strigamort this is the only one I ave scene within 3 states on CL. Its been on there a little while just decided to give it a shot. Not working well yet but there are only so many things that can be wrong with these old guys (heres to hoping lol).

Lethal that blade is bad***. I love low layer damascus and that looks great.

And Javand that is super nice. I think if I made something like that I may actually use my tool rest for grinding.

Mason the damascus is sweet.....but that handle is amazing!! What is it made of???

You guys are awesome. Here's my last batch of 2013 (throwers) about to ship to Peters. My edge scribing setup is shown at top-left. You clamp a sharpie or scribe in the rear v-block and slide the knife on the front v-block.

That grinder rest is a slick idea. Very nice sir.

Amazing balance of the Damascus pattern and handle material, very nicely done.
