Most often, when a potential customer supplies a drawing of what they think would be an awesome knife to a knife maker, there's a huge gap to bridge between their drawing and what the knife maker actually makes. But not always---
I'm easily entertained, so I get giddy about things many folks wouldn't. But the idea of getting a letter from a collector on the other side of the globe, via Royal Air Mail... is pretty awesome.
It's
almost unheard of, for it to be a
great sketch of a kick ass knife with great proportions, lines, and looks like something you might have dreamt up yourself. But turns out, that DOES happen.

Lots-O hammering when you're working with 3/8" thick stock
Fellow forumite Brian Ayres brought me a couple chunks of 4140 forklift tine drops when he came to visit. I threw together a post anvil with one of them, and it works really nice for putting bevels in, like the clip.
