Looks like he was using it as a screwdriver. That's the only thing you could've done. I guess after I broke the first time he decided why not give it another try!
The customer confessed...

Yes, he was abusing the knife and he knew better. He's an instrument mechanic and one of my brothers coworkers at the nuclear plant but he hasn't said exactly what he was doing.

So this is how I tried to salvage the blade. Could I have salvaged this one some other way? Suggestions?

Just finished my first in a set in Gyuto style, very thinly ground on this one.

Just finished up another titanium frame lock. I anodized the handles this time. Do you like the anodized handles or should I stick with blasted handles?

Only had time for one blade this week. So I tried to make it count. :)

Looks really nice, I have seen a few of your knives befor and ment to ask you somthing. Your tang stamp is it just a J, do you normaly use that. I have been considering shortening my stamp from J.J.TODD to TODD or even just T. I have used Just a T befor when I have had limited space.

Love this thread! Always great stuff posted here. You guys are killing it, congrats!

One I just finished up for myself. Last one I will be making for awhile we are trying to sell the house so I had to take down the knife shop in the garage. Apparently that is not a strong selling feature ☺

Knowing what he does for a living I'm pretty sure He's got a tool belt full of 'em. Besides, you can lead a horse to water but...

These guys are pretty rough on their stuff. Maybe I can just sell him another one someday soon:D

He was convinced this one was done for!

Repeat customers are a good thing.

Thanks man! Yep that has always been my makers mark since I first started. I've wanted to move on to an etching machine and may still do so but the stamping is clean simple and super fast. However, a more intricate etched mark, I feel, would certainly give a more sophisticated look.

I have a very detailed etch stencil and yes it looks good but I like tang stamps more. Seams like I was always screwing with the etching trying to get it right. The stamp is bam done and can be redone if needed.
