drop point just finished up as first full freehand. Hate to say it but this one was easier than using my old jig

Customer came to pick up a small kitchen cleaver, I saw him handling it with "too much" care, so I asked, do you want to really use your new knife?

I went to my workbench, picked up a small piece of 3/16" aluminum rod and using a mallet hammered it until it splitted (if you pay attention on the last blow you will see the other half flying away)

I guess he is now confident of his new tool :D

Drop point hunter just finished up as my first full freehand. Very pleased and much easier than using a jig and much cleaner results.

Lots of folders in the shop... here's my latest, a one off 4" blade Kwaiken.

I cut the lockbar on this one with an inexpensive abrasive wheel on the mill. It was my first time to do so and went nicely. I used a Forney wheel at 11OO rpm then finished the cut with a combo of hacksaw, band saw then cleaned up with jewelers files and sandpaper.

Cat scratch finish!

Customized AKS pivot... carved, polished, wire wheeled and heat colored.

Getting the shop set up a little more with a $90 score at a yard sale today.

Been pretty busy lately. I haven't had a lot of shop time but I have been working on a puukko. These are pretty new for me but I'm definitely enjoying it I have also been finding Instagram easy for sharing progress pictures. Here are a few

Very sharp little parer with Geenberg's Kingwood and Redwood Burl, with brass/micarta spacer. O-1 brought up to 800grit and buffed, potatoes beware.
