Just finished this chef knife tonight. Need to get better pictures but I'm really happy with the way it came together.

I'm working on a Randall inspired Vietnam War era style fighter!

The guard fit is visibly seamless... I'm just mocking it up for the photo.

I have seen harpoon point knives become somewhat popular and I wanted to make one. This is CPM 154 with nickel silver bolsters and amboyna wood. Larry

I am a fan of the spearpoint, and your example is gorgeous.

Working on some knives :)

3x Santoku 150mm from 2,5mm NCV1 ( ~80CrV2) 1x Olive wood, 1x Brown Mahogany, 1x Zebrano x-cut
1x Gryphon 3mm O1 with desert G10 scales and CF pins
1x Garmr with CF pins and Palisander wood.

And 4x Grendel mk.IV from 5mm O1 steel.
+ 5x Santoku 200mm 2,5mm NCV1 ( ~80CrV2)

We have a new 36" x 144" Mattison grinder coming soon. Here's the pit for the foundation.

Holy smoking babies!... what kind of production are you running to necessitate that? Nice. I worked in tool and die for 15yrs, so I'm no stranger to big machines. I ran a mill with 750" travel!

We'll be grinding sheet, plate and blocks of steel. We did a test run on some .100" thick CPM 20-CV and the results were way beyond our expectations. It's a major upgrade compared to what we have now. I'll post better pictures as things progress.

Really looking forward to seeing it!

Butch that razor is looking good!

Nice work guys!

Here's the Randall Inspired Fighter all finished up!

I used O1 Steel, Brass and the handle is Green Canvas Micarta in the center and outer scales with red and black G10 liners. It is a sandwich construction that comes out just like a breeched block.

The guard was finished to a clean satin then sandblasted before the patina. I used a solution of liver of sulpher and water to get the patina I wanted.

I'm really happy with this one, it was a lot of firsts for me and is a lot of fun to hold. The balance is right in front of the guard... it is substantial at 3/16" thick but fast in the hand and light with lots of metal removed for the hollow grinds.
