An interpretation of the little Dall Deweese hunter made by Marbles from 1912 to 1923. The length is right, but the cut out for the finger is in the wrong place...I'll fix that on the next one. Made out of .080 L6, and some old cowbone I found in a friend's pasture.

Packing! Ugh. I wanted to finish a few projects before closing up.
But we’re moving in a week so everything’s getting packed! Arizona here we come!

Working on a small batch of blades I had left over from the move from Tucson (yes, moved to New Mexico & really enjoy it). HT is about 59. This one is OD canvas micarta with black liners. Small, only 5 3/4" LOA. It's a good slicer, .090" 80CRV2.

Another 8670 Mini kwaiken. A previous customer had listed several of his "grails" for sale at BushcraftUSA to generate some funds for medical bills for his son. One that I had made for him was in the group. That made me feel good. Seeing the reason he had to sell made me feel bad.

The community there is good and they all sold including mine. "I'll take #3, I'll take # 5".... This one pictured was on my bench almost ready, so I said "Replacing #4" and just mailed it off. That made me feel good.

I am waiting for a belt delivery so I can start working on another chef project, all out of anything below 120 grit right now. So to keep the hands busy I went to the scrap pile of lost causes to see what I maybe could salvage into users. These two in 14c28n got a little attention and coyote micarta scales.

What part? I’m in central. Verde valley

Oh that's such a nice area, unfortunately it was out of our price range. We are moving to Maricopa. It appears to growing steadily and rather rapidly so we're hoping it's a good investment move.

Have you been to the Wuertz Hammer in before?

I’ve never been to the hammer-in but I’ve been to Travis’s shop on my own for a personal visit

Here's a big'un about 14 3/8" OAL I've been working on for 3 weeks in between other more pressing jobs. I call it the Tombstone Defender, just because Arizona (and welcome Fallbrook Forge, Maricopa's pretty nice if you don't commute). It's 52100, Bocote and Elk with a blued and brass guard with copper and stainless spacers. . Only the butt plate is JB'ed on so far, it will be pinned and I'll blue it before long, the block and leather's only 220 grit so far. wip1.JPG wip2.JPG
As one particular awesome member might say, needs more spacers... you know who you are!

I went last year, a good time for sure.
I couldn't believe that shop! They have more money in surface plates than I have in my entire shop!

Maricopa has some great things happening in the next few years
Welcome to AZ
Moved away 4 times and always come back
Sure seems that way! Thank you!

I've always loved AZ, can't wait to call it home.
