I bought it as stabilized and dyed maple burl at the Bladeshow last year, maybe the seller told me the wrong name...

Maple has a lot of variation in color. It’s usually blond, but some pieces are much darker. The grain looks more like maple than walnut. Might be died too.

What is the blue handle material? Where do you get it?

This is one of three for this set. There’s quite a few flaws to touch up in this one. 26c3, Rc65, pretty much a zero edge. African blackwood bolster, with blue dyed curly maple. The maple looks more teal than blue in person. I need to get a magnifier. I missed a bunch of scratches on the handle at lower grit, so I have to clean them up, and refinish the handle. The bolster to handle angles look wrong. Not my best work. Sighhhh.....
