Thank you! It turned out well, though not nearly as well as what I see in these parts each day.

Been working on this one for the last week. Vintage butterscotch micarta with Timascus pivots and backspacer. Damasteel blade

This one had a little decarb on the spine from heat treat. Ok, it won't hurt anything there, and maybe it won't be noticeable in the finished product. Turns out it went all the way through, and it is visible in the final finish. Every knife maker deserves their own knife!

This is my new slicer, works great on roast beef and chicken breast so far. First pic, you can see it about 1/3 length from the tip.

You know that feeling when there are a hundered things that need to be done but you think: "Nahh, not today, let's do something that makes me happy".
Well you start another slipjoint, that is what you do!
This is slipjoint #7, ready for HT now.
RWL34 that I bought flat ground and a template from Chris Crawford's website. Also I'll be trying out some rag micarta I came across.
Off to bed now, happy again.

That's a worthwhile build. Thoae people need whatever help they can get. Congrats man.

Where did you get that pocket clip? I'm making a little knife that I want to EDC and that would be perfect.

@Natlek as for the grinding i tried grinding the flats with a magnet and 120 belt to a nice finish and the new Bora ceramic belt was just sliding over them. I think the surface is too big to put enough pressure, haven't tried the bevels yet, but it should go easier i suppose.
If your steel is hard enough that you are having problems cutting put on a new sharp belt and turn down the speed and give it more pressure. You are right about the surface area. I bought some 1" belts by accident and they work great for hard steel. So long as you have a sharp belt it should cut just fine. I'm grinding 66Rc M4 and it works just fine. If you go to fast you will take the tips of the belt and it won't cut as well. There won't be many sparks it will just cut shavings off. If you hollow grind its even better or at least hog off the bulk before switching to a flat platten. You will find a sweet spot with speed. If you dig in with an edge you might dull the belt and just switch to a new one. The belts will still be almost new and you can run them at high speed on something softer there will still be a lot of life left. If you are careful the belts will last a surprisingly long time since you aren't breaking down any of the grit or glazing the belt. At least thats what I learned for grinding really hard steel. It works on softer stuff as well.

It was a big learning experience for me. I started out trying to run everything at really high speed to cut the hard stuff and had a lot of problems. Ita just hard to get enough pressure in for the belt to cut well at high speed. I think that concept of pressure and grit size and how it cuts vs wears also applies to sharpening and explains why lower grit edges last longer since they don't fatigue the edge. At least thats how I understand it.

I had to take a hiatus this winter to manage some family stuff, but I finally got a new knife made. This is number 18 in MagnaCut and Ironwood.

If you ever decide you don't want that I could probably get used to it.

That is beautiful dude. An ultimate classic. If I ever had the time and talent I would love to make something like that. I hope you get to keep it. It would be hard to let go.

Thank you! It did well in the auction, felt good to send that money on.
It's an Ulticlip, slim version. I got it from knifekits.com but they are sold at Jantz and usaknifemaker.com etc too.

whew! No opportunity for try fits with this one. Designed like a crush cap, only one try and ya betta make sure it's glued up cuz it's not coming apart without a fight!
Gotta hit town tomorrow so she'll have some time to cure before I bash the shit out of the end of that tang
