What's that you're eating?

Chicken thighs tonight. Sous vide the chicken with butter and rosemary to 150 degrees. Sautéed onions, garlic and some fresh shiitake mushrooms in some butter, then brown the chicken in the glaze of the pan. Before removing the chicken, added a little tawny port and a few more mushrooms.

Sautéed green beans and asparagus, and some mashed purple potatoes.

The wife asked for pan-fried ribeye this morning but pickings were slim. Went for a NY strip instead. Garlic, thyme, rosemary, bay, salted butter, salt & pepper. Seared all sides then popped it in a 300F pre-heated oven and killed the heat to rest. Leftover salad from last night.

Currently in cook mode. Broccoli is roasting in the oven. Tri tip is on the grill following a long Sous vide bath to tenderize and bring close to temp. Black eyed peas have been cooking since noon with some fat back and onions. Potatoes are boiling and getting ready to be mashed. Had 2 Irish Car Bombs during dinner prep phase, and have moved on to the wine phase of the evening.

I present to you, Spam matusubi???

Not sure what to think, my son wanted it, never made it, sucks to do (one at a time, using the spam can for form), they liked it.......but most important, it's popular on social media right now, so there's that!! 😆
