whats the most you ever paid for a knife?

$15,500 for a knife? Pics or it didn't happen :D
Haha!

mine would be $247 for a Spyderco CF S90v Manix II and I'm sad to say I still can't bring my self to use it which goes against my philosophy on owning a knife that just screams "USE ME DAMNIT!" But I would if Spyderco would put it into regular production.

And second would be my BM 630 Skirmish for $237 back in march. This one however has seen some use and gets regular pocket time.

$220 for the M4 Military, I have 3 pre-orders all due in december at $175-$190 each (ESEE HEST/F, S90V para, and BM TSEK M390).

$600.

I love seeing the custom makers here post breathtaking knives, but if I own it I have to at least be willing to use it and I don't think I ever could.

I know what you mean. :D

Some of them are just way too nice to use, more like works of art than knives.

400 Singapore dollars (around 307 USD today) for a MOD CQD Mark 2 combo-edge folder in 2006.

That was the most expensive blade I had bought with my own funds.

For you big spending married men. What did the wife buy to get even. That is if she found out.

Spending $225 20 years ago was hard. The first time I spent over $1000 was difficult. Dropping $3000 on a blade ordered a year ago was good. Walking out of the Blade show and realizing I'd spent over $10,000 was pretty strange.
Every price point has it's reaction. And once you pass it the next one beckons...

I found the above true as well.

Would also add that once I found my knives could be sold for more than I paid it became MUCH easier to justify spending more and more for them.

The important question would be: "what knife would she use for that?"

For me, my dearest knife would be $95+shipping for a hand made Khukiri, second dearest would be under $70.
My dearest flashlight though cost me over US$500 all up - 212W, 7000+ Lumen, unique.

Unfortunately, she has LOTS to choose from.

$750 if you count the Busse Gladius as a knife. If not, $485 for a unique graphic Large Sebenza 21. Nothing like having a one of kind Sebbie. Forget the inlays.

$140 on a Spyderco Paramilitary (and I didn't even put up all the money), all the others were $65-70 or less. More because of budget and lifestyle than it is willingness to spend more on a knife.

I don't think I'd ever go over $200-$250 though.

Around $260 for custom fixed blade designed by myself.
But my users are typically around $60 - $120.

the be honest, ive never spent more than $100 on any knife. and im edcing this right now.
