What's your newest Buck knife

I was kicking myself for throwing in an opening bid for Guildmaster on the Bay. Ended up winning it and overpaying a bit for shipping. It was listed as blades in good shape and box shows wear, I wasn't expecting much.

It showed up today and wow. It's a 1988 pre-Workmaster 812 Guildmaster 2. The knife appears to be brand spanking new. I don't think this has even seen the light of day. I'll have to stash this one away or involve it in a horse trade later down the road.

I was on the phone with my Brother David at the 35th when I was lucky enough to talk to CJ for a few minutes. I told him I was sorry I missed the 35th trip but hopefully would be able to actually display at Atlanta next year. After the call ended CJ walked over and picked up this 112 and asked David to give it to me when he got back to Florida. I really feel honored the CEO of a major American company would not only take the time to wish me well (I was at the VA ) but send me a get well gift lol! This one will go into the collection..Buck really is run by great Christian leadership and good folks..imagejpeg_0(2).jpg

These three arrived yesterday. 20230803_142648.jpg
The classic 112, because I didn't own one yet.
The 685 and 840, because I wanted to check them out. All 3 are about as perfect as knives can be, right from the factory. The only gripe I found was the pocket clip on the 840 (brutal, palm chafer) and it isn't a problem anymore. Hope you all have a great afternoon!

Ranger Mail. Got this on the Bay. I wonder if any of you are the one that sold it? BCCI Ranger from 2015 with 420HC (mirror finished with BCCI Gold Etch Logo), Carbon Fiber scales and copper bolsters. There was another version that had S35VN but didn't have the Gold Etch logo. Rangers are my favorite knife.
Edit: Also, they etched the BCCI member number on it - 532.

I got a Mini Spitfire with Nail nick, and a 303 Cadet. Other than the pocket clip being so tight as to be useless, the Mini Spitfire is a neat little knife.

The 303 has decent snap, but it has some crazy spring gaps, including one that just has one wonky grind. I also think the backpin might need to be peened more, because there's some gaps in the middle that close up when I squeeze. the knife handles. This one might be heading back to the factory for a looking over.

Beautiful knife, wasn’t from me. If I had that it wouldn’t have gone anywhere!

I gotta fix my mail box. Over the last couple weeks, a new knife falls out of it almost every day. This Hoyt Buck Founder's Edition 112 fell out of the mailbox yesterday. It has lived in it's tin and sheath for a long time and is not shiny/sparkly new looking but it hasn't been used either. I can't imagine that Hoyt Buck would want his name on a knife that didn't get used so, I'll tote it and use it sometimes.

When I thought my 2015 309 was lost, I acquired a used 1992 309 (top in picture). I was amazed at what a great edge both blades took on the flatter grind blades. Both are shave sharp. Ive never been able to get my 2015 model this sharp.

I think I'm going to start carrying the 92 and use the 2015 as a backup in case l lose it

I had one of those late 80’s early 90’s 309 when I was in highschool and freshman in college. Somewhere along the line it vanished. It was one of my favorite knives of all time. Great little cutters.

I have a problem, but it's mostly under control. I only left the gun show with two Bucks. Could've went nuts, but couldn't walk away from these.

2020 blaze orange 110LT. Touched up the edge and slapped on a thumbstud. Liking the weight and grip texture. Gonna see some belt time at work.

2001 186 Odyssey. Never heard of it. Picked it up off the table on a whim, didn't even realize it was a Buck until closer inspection. That point is SCARY.
Definitely just part of the collection, since this sits way high in the pocket. We've come a long way in the world of pocket knives. But tell me that clip stamp ain't sexy. Go ahead. Try.

I picked up another 110 in OD Green Micarta and decided to try to bring out the color a bit - I sanded the scales to 220 grit and added RenWax. It still has some grip but the color shows through much more. (Shown with a 'normal' OD green micarta in back.)

The Buck 426 arrived in today's mail! I was so excited that I stopped to get the mail on my way go the gym instead of on my way home from the gym as per my routine. It came with a nice sheath with a snap similar to the LT series, but gray instead of black. It also has the little nubbin on the spine of the blade near the pivot just like the 110 LT and 112 LT. Did the 426 always have that, or was my knife assembled with a 110 LT blade?

I'll be giving the apex of the edge a little love with a ceramic rod shortly, then it will be on EDC duty for a while.

You made me go and look at my new 426, for the "nubbin". You do mean the little raised tab on the spine that meets another raised tab on the lock bar, correct? I don't own an LT for comparison, but my 2012 model 422 has them as well.
